YOU, believing shit you made up in your head that nobody every said anywhere. just so you can say you voted for a black person and you are not a racist. but truly only a racist thinks like that . Ok saw your links but I think I understand what has happened and this is bringing more light to the idustrial military complex. SO your saying that there are fewer fed employees, great lets take that, but then there is the spending... [link to www.washingtonpost.com] so higher spending less jobs.... this makes sense, can we say military industrial complex. obama, is just a pawn while the bankers an the war machine take there cut. oh there are those drones strikes, and endless wars Obama has certainly been forced to play the hand of cards that Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/GoldmanSachs dealt him. And gobs of money had to be spent to slow and then stop the Bush Economic Crash. But that wasn't the debate. |

Quoting: Useless Cookie Eater Kinda of pathetic grasping at straws now Libtards. THEY WILL NOT FACE THE TRUTH A few facts: President George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine. A little over one year ago: 1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high 2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon 3) The unemployment rate was 4.5% 4) The DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 5) Americans were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large! But Americans wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 we voted in a Democratic Congress and yes--we got 'CHANGE' all right. In the PAST YEAR: 1) Consumer confidence has plummeted 2) Gasoline was over $4 a gallon just a month ago 3) Unemployment is up to 6.1% (a 35.5% increase!) 4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS (and prices are still dropping) 5) 2% of American homes are in foreclosure. 6) THE DOW is probing new lows every other session.... $3.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS! The President has no control over any of these issues, only Congress. And, what has Congress done in the last two years? Absolutely nothing to prevent it. Why? Because Democrats love misery, and they love to spread it around. Read more: [link to www.city-data.com] |

A shitty website using commodity technology with no barrier to entry is not realistically worth even $1 million. And who masterminded the repeal of Glass Steagall? REPUBLICANS Mostly Phil Gramm and his sorry sorry wife. Sen. Phil Gramm (R, Texas), Rep. Jim Leach (R, Iowa), and Rep. Thomas J. Bliley, Jr. (R, Virginia), the co-sponsors of the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act. [link to en.wikipedia.org] In her role at the Mercatus Center, Gramm generally calls for deregulation of the energy industry. Previously, Gramm held several positions in the Reagan Administration, including heading the Commodity Futures Trading Commission from 1988 to 1993. After a lobbying campaign from Enron, the CFTC exempted it from regulation in trading of energy derivatives. Subsequently, Gramm resigned from the CFTC and took a seat on the Enron Board of Directors and served on its Audit Committee. While on the board of directors she received donations from Enron to support the Mercatus Center. Wendy Lee Gramm After the Enron scandal, Gramm and the other directors of the energy company were named in several investor lawsuits, many of which have been settled. In particular, Gramm and other Enron directors agreed to a 168 million dollar settlement in a suit led by the University of California. As part of that settlement, the directors agreed to collectively pay $13 million to settle claims of insider trading. |

Because they fucked it all to hell, they drove down the cost of borrowing money so their cronies on wall street would borrow money on the cheap and invest in the stock market, the so called "wealth effect" which would encourage consumers to consume more and keep their ponzi scheme alive. The "intended" consequence was to drive down fixed income instruments' i.e. Certificates of Deposit, savings accounts and in some cases money market funds via the federal reserves purchasing of bonds, bonds which are tied to the interest rates we receive on our savings accounts. By buying these bonds they made it unattractive to investors to stay in bonds as their return on investment would be too low, sending investors/traders into the stock market in search of higher return of their money. This was done to make the gain on your mom and dad and gramma and grampa's savings become so miniscule, OR in fact negative that they too would have no choice but to join the big gambling house called the stock market! This is BULLSHIT PEOPLE! These fuckers are borrowing cheap money from the fed and forcing our real savings; our real assets, into their fucking gambling houses! Once we finally capitulate, IF we finally capitulate and join their stock market game, they will, ONCE AGAIN, crash the house of cards, having set their stop losses and protected they're gains, all while mom and pop "investments" diminish or are lost all together, their life savings up in smoke yet again. Don't let them have your money! Take the pain and fuck them all to hell! All you have to do is check the volume of shares exchanged on a daily basis to know I'm telling you true. On up days the market volume is always lower than on down days. That's because the so called "smart money" on wall street doesn't believe what they're selling and are unwilling themselves to buy whole hog. They are however on the razors edge willing to dump stocks heavy on the downside to "lock in profits". These players are trying to suck you back to the poker table with smoke and mirrors and are desperate for your cash injections. I grew up with interest rates in the 4-6 percent range except for a few years when it was as high as 18 percent. I never imagined interest rates this low, but I never imagined alot of things I see going on now. |
