From Russia With Love

The Russians have a higher
moral code than the US.
It wasn't always that way;
but it's that way now.

It's really funny how it ended up that way, isn't it?

Life is so unpredictable.

Well, they bled out hard in WWII and suffered under the lash of communism for 70 years. Maybe they earned their time in the sun.

I've been visiting Russia for about 7 years now and I have only positive things to say about the people. On my very first visit to St Petersburg a taxi driver took me on an hour long tour of all the monuments and places of interest in the city and refused to take any money from me.

I lived in Moldova for almost 7 years, traveled a lot in Ukraine and Russia.

Those countries are no different from most of the rest of the world. The average everyday person is really nice and they are friendly and just wonderful people.

The problem is that all us nice people end up having leaders who are sociopaths, narcissists, power hungry evil bastards..

It is just disgusting that those are the ones in charge.

It used to be like that here.

People helped each other, now so many people are just for themselves. They miss so much, it is very sad.

Now all you hear is about the worthless old people.

Yes, the Russians are big hearted. They have been through so much suffering together. They know that people must help and care for each other.

I'm afraid that is a lesson we are about to learn here.

Look at all those wonderful men helping little old ladies cross the street. Including one young man in the making. Shooing helpless animals off to safety. Taking the time and good will to help others in sticky situations. We love you real men. The little things add up to everything.



Got my car stuck in a mud hole one time. Had to pay some shmo 15 bucks to pull me out. I was grateful of course but I couldn't help but think if the rolls were reversed I would have just pulled him out and been on my way. Do onto others, and all that. It's good to see this type of thing is still alive out there.

And an early morning bump for all those just arriving home.
