(OP) User ID: 53980048 United States 02/07/2014 04:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm sort of torn. I feel like crushing the ivory just means all those elephants who lost their lives died in vain. But if they turned around and resold it, they'd be part of the problem. And if they stored it, it would surely have fallen into the wrong hands. I'm not sure what the right answer is here... Trying to bring GLP together. I'm still collecting flags from posters all over the world. Thread: Official "Flags from around the world" thread. Hoping to get posts from all countries that frequent GLP. :gratefulsig: |

There is a place in hell for people who kill animals for money Why not give the ivory back to the country from where it came? Let them decide what to do with it. I have a real soft spot for all animals and especially the very intelligent animals that live in a structured herd like elephants. But you just know that getting that kind of money to the right people would be difficult. 99% of it would end up lining one of the pockets of some rich animal-hating bureaucrat. A message for future generations to see that we used the ivory to send a message that it was bad to harvest it. Perhaps a future generation would see that we were trying to be wise. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35411839 That's actually a good idea. If they could have connected the tusks together in the shape of an elephant and carved a tribute over the tusks. That would have made a fabulous museum piece as well as a tribute to those animals who so meaninglessly lost their lives. Trying to bring GLP together. Stupid fucks. Now it's worth more than before so yep...now more people will kill because now they will get even more money. Actually, they hope these idiots will do it again...rinse and repeat. Elephants are so magnificent. What kind of monsters can do this? It's best not to have any remainder of their suffering left to be enjoyed as some prize trinket. So much useless suffering.
