I mean, think about it: they spent $51 billion and they still had to confiscate pillows from the locals for the athletes' village. Why such poor planning? And where did that money go?

After witnessing the South African Cup, I'd say they've done pretty well so far, but my standards have been drastically lowered. More than that, there's been an obvious smear campaign on Russian everything in media/net the past few days, which makes me more suspicious than anything the hosts have done so far.

It's called Central Planning, a feature of Socialist based governments that brings great pleasure and benefit to those of government payrolls, not so popular with the peons however .

Russia needs this to try and bring themselves back to the world stage. You can bet they are trying really hard to make this the best they can. Maybe they are just too poor and stupid to do it correctly. Russia and its people have lost all motivation for life, and making themselves better, all they have left is pride. And pride alone isnt enough to be great. Russia is dead, its over. Its all fake, and the know it.


India just took delivery of their new fighter jets, and were so shocked at how poorly designed and disfunctional they were, they said that Russia was 30 years behind the US.

It's in all US govt. department and getting worse by the moment. Still, I would have assumed that Russia would try their hardest to put their best foot forward since Putin's obviously on a quest to usurp the U.S.'s power. Even factoring in probable American propaganda, their lack of preparedness seems odd to me.
