What will Russia do about Ukraine, if Ukraine start cosying up to the EU? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 43189178 Mexico 01/26/2014 04:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | well from what I can see the southern parts are heating up now which are pro Russia Russia may try to push for a more of a split rather than intervening in Ukraine overtly... Quoting: Anderson_G [link to rt.com] Worth a read as it will show what is going on in terms of West VS East the threat relating to Iranian missiles hitting Europe was the justification for the US AMD now that excuse is now null and void The US are still pushing ahead for the defence shield and Ukraine is part of that plan And it would place NATO hardware and Troops on a land that is Bordered with Russia not something that Russia wants... When Russia was in Afghanistan It wasn't an Invasion they were there by request of the Afghan Government to help fight against an insurgency which was propped up by the US/West All these years ahead we are seeing similar events happening with the Middle East Africa and now Europe only difference is that Russia isn't the Soviet Union anymore and are far more wise to events that are happening... How fast were we all to say anything about Georgia in 08 ? Since 1945 the US has been responsible or have taken part in the removal and change of over 50 foreign Governments and states IMO we need a new book to go on because this shit is just getting more blatant Actually... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 49251052 Netherlands 01/26/2014 05:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Western cowardice would most likely allow Russia to directly intervene should they so desire, militarily. The only thing that could stop Russia from doing this is that Ukraine would simply explode in their faces and become an uncontrollable mess, moreso than now. Simple fact is, Russia is too big a factor to ignore for Ukraine. Though the end result, well you'd definitely go back to the cold war days. The worst you'd see is UN/EU/US condemnation, but they wouldn't go as far to actually try and sanction Russia, that's impossible. It's much like the Russian war against Georgia, had they decided to remove Saakashvili by force and put him on trail for warcrimes, i personally think that that would've been the end of it, even with their close ties to NATO, and they were close to doing just that. Whatever stopped them is beyond me, personally i think he deserved it. Russia can try and push their luck... And i feel that they can get away with it too. I just dont see them doing it that quickly. But there's still this deeply rooted problem that Ukraine has and that a large part of the country supports Russia due to obvious reasons and the other doesn't. In the long run, if they dont solve their differences, i can see the country splitting the east/south joining Russia. New elections could just result into another pro-russian government since neither side is clearly favored, and revolution doesn't lead to anything, only unrest at Russia's borders. One way or another, part of Ukraine's fate will always belong to Russia. History, ethnic heritage and location, and because Russia has more plans with Ukraine than the EU has. Look up the Eurasian Union. Ukraine is the key to that idea. And they certainly wont have the EU reach so far. This fight isn't over, not by a long shot. |

Many members of this government still 10 years ago were a powerful gang of criminals from the very heart of the criminal world of Donbass, the eastern region of Ukraine. Donbass was not prorussian, but became such as a result of fierce intimidation by the gang, who went trough thousands of most brutal broad day killings and executions of businessmen, journalists and politicians, as well as countless other competing gangsters. So, to make it short; they got to power 7 years ago, and made Like in Ukraine a hell. Now the people what to put the end to this criminal occupation! This is all to it, except the fact that Russia prefers Ukraine run by any sort of gangsters, if it belong to them. |
