Just like with the electrical grid, we are facing demand-driven distribution limitations which only a massive increase of infrastructure can address. It is just like gasoline prices go up in the summer because of increased demand. Diesel and fuel oil (basically the same thing) usually increase in the winter. Dirtyboy Think beyond impossible. |

Only since they developed Fracking since the early 2000's has it been in abundance. They also keep discovering new Shales that produce the gas. I have interest in a well in TX and most of my little royalty check goes to transporting the gas. In the early 2000's gas was around $7.00 and they were drilling and Fracking like crazy, but now it is too cheap to drill. "Never, never, never give up." Winston Churchill |

February natural gas NGG14 +6.55%was last at $4.68 per million British thermal units, up 24.5 cents, or 5.5%, on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It was set for highest settlement in about 2 and a half years, FactSet data, tracking the most-active contracts show. Quoting: BattlesightZero ... Coal is easy to store at the point of generation, increasing the resiliency of the local electric grid to outages coal generators can often run for weeks without running out of fuel, not so with Natural Gas. In the event of a Nat.Gas infrastructure breach or excessive demand, gas-generated electric service will likely be disrupted in short order. Yet this administration insists on "taxing coal-fired electric generation into extinction". This is one more way in which the present administration is setting our country up for massive disruption, and posing a substantial risk to American lives. Quoting: Boris the Cat How can mass media stories change this much in a short time? And why don't more people notice it? Well, if you subscribe to socialism, it's a fear tactic. If you subscribe to objectvist Ayn Rand economics, it's the system at work! 'Greed is good'. If you've read Marx, it's the Bourgeoisie. If you're functionally literate with a modicum of commonsense and you've tried to read Adam Smith then you know we are about to go through a massive war, die off, and hopefully, the rebirth of an era of usefulness and return to generalization. To quote Heinlein: A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. -Robert A. Heinlein |
