Yes, but that isn't part of the poll.

lol

There are many other things I think should be done away with, but it doesn't go with the poll.

The things listed in the poll, are all things we as a society have done in the name of equality/fairness in some way, that have had negative consequences. Some good has come from some of it, but also negative consequences as a result.

Feminism, because if you remove woman as victim of men, you also take a big chunk out of Affirmative Action and Welfare, which thrive on feminist ideas.

Re: If You Could Erase One Of These And It's Effects From History, Which Would It Be? And Why?
I chose Welfare Programs because this, more than anything else, has led to the dependence of people on government as a whole and a loss of individual independence. I also think that "welfare" encourages laziness and promiscuity, which directly ties into the erosion of the work ethic and "traditional" values. Also, too many people take advantage of these programs and know they can rely on them (at least for now). How many times have you heard someone say, "Well, if things get too bad, I can always go on welfare." I also think that the concept of "family" has suffered, too, as many families no longer give as much support to their family members in difficult times, saying, "Well, let the government feed indigent Uncle Thaddeus" or "Let the government take care of Grandma."

In short, I think that welfare programs have created a loss of personal responsibility and have therefore been bad for EVERYONE.

Disgusting.

I choose Unions, because never in the field of human endeavor, have so many owed so much to so few for doing so little. Unions use to have a purpose years ago, but now, all they do is steal your money, do as they want, and will deny all that ask for the right to have a job.

Tough call given the choices. It's a pretty nasty lot. I'll be in the minority as of this post just for the hell of it and say feminism. Reason? Feminism isn't just limited to women anymore. Today it emasculates men and the role of men in society who are programmed at every turn to be less masculine and more feminine as if one were better than the other. Boys aren't allowed to be boys anymore and girls are told that they can do anything a man can do just as well.

That leads to this. [link to www.usatoday.com]
... and this (caution: not for the faint of heart) [link to www.boygeorgeuk.com] puke

I have no problem with a woman standing up for herself. I prefer a confident woman over a wilting flower, but feminism has pushed far beyond inspiring confidence in women to be all they can be to insisting that men behave themselves so sheepishly that they might as well cut off their balls. A man with no balls can't fight back against any of the other evils.

Perhaps it is the lack of manly fortitude that has allowed the self destructive idiocy of multiculturalism, had men apologizing for so long for things they didn't do to make them think they have to repay what they don't owe and give it a dumbass name like "affirmative action", and enabled the gutless dependent welfare society to do their worst and live off others like they are somehow entitled to it just for breathing air.

Now, please keep all punches above the belt ladies. wink

"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

Gee... hard to decide.

I'll go with feminism, affirmative action, and welfare program ala Great Society program as means to slave people for votes.

Multicultural have been around long enough to see that it works fine for the most part. It just depends on where we came from and how we are taught to treat certain people. Those crazy arabs wanting sharia laws is definitely not what we're used to.

Same for unions.
