coworker was fired today. what would you do?
I saw him in the hall and he said it was because of what happened last week. few hours later he says on Facebook for me to make sure he isn't black balled. I said I think that has already happened. he said what do you mean? I said because they fired you. I said. no one has said anything except a company wide email saying he was let go. he now wants me to forward that email to his personal email assuming I would he said thanks already. so should I? I have reservations sending him anything even that because he is no longer employed with the company.

I considered him a friend. however I don't want to loose my job over it. any ideas what he would want with this email?

later my boss asked me if he was going to cause trouble being let go I answered I have no idea. i feel stuck in the middle. loyalty to my employer is More important that this friend that's already let go.

he has been fired several times and they hire him back so there is a chance they may find a spot for him. should I just tell him that I can't send it ? what reason do I give?
I awoke to hear john 3:16 in a loud voice.

i dont know about legally but im guessing its easy for them to let people go. so being on their bad radar wouldnt be a good idea. also if he were to use that e-mail for anything (and why else would he want it?) it will say he received it from you...

emails especially company-wide ones are probably not considered private.
I would still just drop him a printout of it.

btw if he would say he just wants to read the e-mail then you could take a picture of the e-mail and send him that to his phone (not email).

then as long as he wouldnt share where he got it, you wouldnt have anything to worry about

they monitor emails so sending it direct could be traced and printing is also logged. so if they care enough to look they could see I sent it to him. since they sent it to about 50 people anyone could share. i was his closest co worker. it would be obvious if that shit hit some fan that I gave it to him. so I think I need to just tell him I can't.

Re: coworker was fired today. what would you do?
You have already stated that you feel loyalty to your employer. Stay true to yourself. If he is indeed your "friend", then he should understand why you do not feel comfortable forwarding the email to him. It is not in your best interest to compromise yourself when you aren't sure it's the right thing to do. Stay true to yourself. Look out for your best interest. Forwarding the email does not sound like it is in your best interest to do so. Trust your gut instincts. It bothers you, so don't do it.

Remove all identifiers from the email, print it out, and mail it to him. Then just back off from it all.

You already know the answer to this question.....

Hes not your "friend" otherwise he wouldnt be putting you in this situation.

He was a coworker whom you owe nothing.

Take cellphone pics of the email.

Keep it.

In the future IF there is any real legal reason your friend should need it.. you have it.

Other than that, file it and forget it.

Shouldn't have said anything about the email to begin with, should have just printed it and left under wiper. If you wanted him to see it.

he was fired for not following up with something he was told to do the day before. he had already had his hand slapped and they were still sore about it. item was supposed to be taken off the show room floor because vendor was not approved and the following day item was still sitting in showroom. management told me he had several verbal warnings and two written it was his third strike. my co worker didn't tell me about any of this.

Then screw your "friend".

Most people don't even get 2 strikes, let alone 3.

Trust that it is karma gently nudging your friend in a different direction. lol
