I think young children with extraordinary talents like this are experiencing a past life "bleed through" of some sort. Quoting: oh_yikes What a talent that girl has! I mean to tell ya. I still have chill bumps from listening to her sing. It was so beautiful it made me cry. Past life bleed through. I don't know any other way to classify it other than - Whoa! I thought it was remarkable, and I wonder if many child prodigies were masters in a past life. How do you explain a three or four yr. old that can play like a master? They remember! I think I had the pleasure of witnessing a 5 yr. old prodigy and his piano/violin teacher didn't know it yet. |

I fell in love with Maria Callas' angelic voice when I was little. She was born in 1923 and passed away in 1977. Quoting: Éireann Here is Maria singing "Ava Maria". You don't have to listen to the whole thing, but you need to hear a bit of it for a comparison. [link to www.youtube.com] Now. Listen to this little girl sing "O Mio Babbino Caro". Amira Willighagen is from Nijmegen, The Netherlands and is nine years old. [link to www.youtube.com] Uitstekend! I'm just... The child's demeanor is more mature and humble than most adults I know. I don't know where her knowledge of singing comes from, but she didn't get it from a professional who has trained their voice for years and years. Everything about this child is magical. Old soul? Walk in? I mean. What the heck? How does a voice like that come out of a child that small? She has skill that takes most opera singers years to master. I can post the full version of the little girl's performance w/English subtitles if anyone is interested. Wow. We were at a Resort in Mexico a few years ago around Christmas time. This song would come on every day when we were eating at the buffet. It must have been on a track. Anyway, I's never heard it before. I had no idea what she was singing, but it was so beautiful it would stop me in my tracks and I would just listen. We go every year at Christmas time and I always secretly hope I hear that song. We just got back from our annual trip this year and we didn't hear it. I missed it. Beautiful stuff. Edit to add: I just watched the kid's video and I'm astounded at how wonderful she is. And, yes she sounds just like the lovely gal who sang Ava Maria. Stunning! Last Edited by Alpacalips on 01/10/2014 09:32 PM |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1931986 United States 01/10/2014 09:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is grossly unfair to gifted and talented children (i was one) to dehumanise them by suggesting they are "more spiritual" or "a gift to the world" or "old souls". One of the worst things that can happen to a sensitive gifted child is to have their childhood ignored by adulta who see only gifts and talents (and marketability) Gifted children are children born into bodies with good brains. Gifted people are intelligent and sensitive because we have good brains and bodies. We got good genes and we had enough nurturance in care in gestation and early childhood. We are people. We have the same needs as other people. We most emphatocally do NOT need to be the object of silly worshipful amazement because we can do most things well. We most emphatically do not need to be dehumanised and objectified, which are as annoying and frustrating and painful when it is idolising as when it is demonising. Sorry to rant on your thread. It just iros me to no end o be treated Luke a different sort of person or a more Advanced sort of person because I am smart. Ive never gotten over it. It hurts me to hear people speak of a chile as if she is not a real child. Gifted children are much more vulnerable to being narcissistically used. We can be loved for our gifts more than cor who we are. Imagine how painful this is for a child, and how it distorts her development. We are people. We are not índigo children or crystal children and we aren't something more spiritual than other people. You can take any bright child and create a prodigy. Its better to support a balanced child. Sorry again. I jist dont have a good feeling seeing children put in adult roles. Its creepy. |

I don’t know a single stage performer with that attitude though who stuck with it. Obviously you were forced in to it, but to assume ALL are forced in to it is not correct. They hurt you obviously and it still hurts and shows. I’m “gifted” heck I stole my first car at age 11 and no one taught me how. I could turn a heck of a time in a race at that age also, it was “natural” to me. No one taught me to drive I learned to drive a stick on my own even, I just felt it, I lived it I loved it. I wish they would have coddled me more but they did not and I took care of myself over the years. We’re not all the same and as I said some thrive on it and live for it…I did, it was not a good thing for me at the time but I did it on my own.
