(OP) 12/08/2013 09:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They don't go square only the bottom is frozen flat hence the clunking sound as the tires go down the street and it doesn't happen till -30F range. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51007260 It was a hell of a lot colder than that…i've seen -40 here(lower 48) and there isn't any comparison. Do radials do it, too? This was before radials… Last Edited by SPUD on 12/08/2013 09:43 PM "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most" ___________ "May your chains rest lightly upon you..." |

At -25 the rubber tires are not going to be very pliable anyway which would make the flat spots stay in place longer. As for bias ply....as far as I know they are only used on some trailers at this point. They suck for any kind of handling. |

If the tires were warm when parked on a concrete surface it is worse than if you just came from a short jaunt. Yes my tires are radial. (OP) 12/08/2013 10:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hmmm...I lived in Norway for 4 years and had -55 weather at the "worst" and never had that problem. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19583047 We always parked in a garage for the most part, but that time really sticks out in my mind because it was so horribly bitter cold….clear as a bell…one of those nights. I remember the car had points, and you really hoped it started… Let's not forget fuel lines freezing up as you're driving down the road…that's always a hoot! Damn.....-55 without a garage and plugging the thing in to keep the oil warm....good luck getting it started. Water in the gas must be a horrible thing too. |

After working a long day with no where to plug in,the car would freeze up. I'd fire up the hibachi slide it under the oil pan and voila the car would start.
