Message Subject What Is The Reddish Star I Saw at/after Sunset in South East? It's NOT Venus

I am really surprised at seeing this although I think it's in a different part of the sky than the other objects that have been discussed. They were seeing something in the western sky, this was in the south eastern sky - east of Venus anyway. It might be just a known star but I'd never noticed it before and the fact that it was so bright and reddish is what caught my eye. Very strange. I'll be looking for it again Friday. the weather here has sucked between regular clouds and chemtrailing, hopefully I get another good look.

You folks are right though, it appears around sunset and lasts for maybe a couple of hours afterwards. Does not rise high over the horizon, I don't think it rises as high as Venus currently is.
