That's interesting. What I saw appeared to be at the same or lower altitude as Venus, which I think is lower than Fomalhaut, although that is an excellent speculation. Is Fomalhaut of a reddish appearance? This seemed reddish to me and bright enough for me to wonder if it was Venus before I located Venus to the west.
