IT BEGINS! Presidential Term Limits Going To Be Trashed?

The push is on to get Obama a third term... the narrative is being constructed now for a referendum question on the next ballot... if they can get enough steam behind it.

"The time has come to end presidential term limits, because continuing the restrictions on how long one can serve in the country's highest office is bad for the United States,"claims Jonathan Zimmerman a history and education professor at New York University.

The President would have to be a really good one for the term limit to be abolished. Since we don't have a good President I don't think we need to worry about this being passed.

Nixon was in favor of establishing one 6 year term as President. Nixon said too much time was spent on re-election politics. A lot of time is spent at all levels of government just on doing things to get re-elected.

There is still no limit on Congressional terms. I think this is a bigger problem. Probably most people vote for incumbents because they believe the incumbent knows what he is doing. I you serve a partial term in Congress you get a full pension for life and free health care. No where else can you get a job like this unless you are a corporate executive.

What we need is a real charismatic speaker to get on TV every week with an easy to understand show explaining what goes on in Congress every week. I think if everyone knew what goes on in voting bills with multiple little scratch my back spending people would become more outraged.

We should all be outraged that no budget has been passed yet. The Congress is still fooling around with other things and not he budget. Obummacare needs to be fixed or trashed and that isn't being done effectively either.

Ever notice how when you read some story about a cancer eating away at the heart of your nation you never sit there saying to yourself, "O'Ryan... Those goddam Irishmen always trying to kick the shit out of my country." Or, "Schmidt, another fucking German, I should have known the moment I read the headline it would be some subversive fucking square head."

theres no such thing as presidential term limits. only reason why presidents normally exit after 2nd term (with the exception of Nixon who tried for 3) was cause George Washington ended his presidency after 2 terms.
