You forgot about the Russians with their 'Luna' rovers. Americans were never the first to land on the Mun! :) But hooray for the Chinese! I would say they would use less time then previous nations for a manned mission. Looks like they have almost limitless resources.
If any foreign minister begins to defend to the death a "peace conference," you can be sure his government has already placed its orders for new battleships and aeroplanes.

Agree! All this recent fake moon landing shit is sucking sheeeple in by the droves. Just more divide and conquer fascism strategy. OFC we went to the moon. It was never doubted back then.

What is China up to?? Does seem rather unplanned.

"Jade Rabbit's name comes a Chinese myth: According to the ancient story, a lady called Chang'e swallowed magic pills, which allowed her to fly to the Moon along with her pet rabbit "Yutu". There she became a goddess, and has been living on the Moon with the white rabbit ever since." From OPs link

Probably Foxconn, shipping the Slaves to the Moon, no Earth Laws there. Complaining about inhuman labor conditions? You get catapulted in the Vacuum of Space, never heard of again.

Joking aside, I think this will get very very interesting somehow.....blink

Not to sound like an idiot, but 2 weeks to get to the Moon? I know the Apollo missions had larger rockets but is it really that much of a difference? Thought they managed to do the one way trip in a few days.

Just thought I'd ask that...take the risk of being stupid just to help anyone else that may be wondering that as well....

LMAO ;)

.. sry, just kidding... your opening line made me laugh though.....

it depends on trajectories, landing orbits, loads of fun stuff....

maybe remember too the US was racing hard core to gt there first....

that's why i hope it takes photos of the us landing sites ;)

A Chinese-made nuclear battery will power the rover after it lands on the lunar surface. Using plutonium-238, the battery will last for more than 30 years.

Something does not add up, why it takes 14 days for the same travel that took only 4 days for Apollo 11, that is it took that much to Stanley Kubrick's story line...

Apollo 11 was launched on July 16, 1969 and landed on the Moon on July 20, 1969.

Lunokhod 1 was the first of two unmanned lunar rovers landed on the Moon by the Soviet Union.
Luna 17 was launched on November 10, 1970. The spacecraft soft-landed on the Moon in the Sea of Rains on November 17.

It took 7 days for Lunokhod 1 to land on the moon, or maybe not...

Kubrick was inspired by Jules Verne for his Apollo 11 story.
From the Earth to the Moon is an 1865 novel by Jules Verne.
During their return journey from the moon, the crew of Apollo 11 made reference to Jules Verne's book during a TV broadcast on July 23.[3] The mission's commander, astronaut Neil Armstrong, said, "A hundred years ago, Jules Verne wrote a book about a voyage to the Moon. His spaceship, Columbia [sic], took off from Florida and landed in the Pacific Ocean after completing a trip to the Moon. It seems appropriate to us to share with you some of the reflections of the crew as the modern-day Columbia completes its rendezvous with the planet Earth and the same Pacific Ocean tomorrow."
[link to en.wikipedia.org]

How Jules Verne Invented NASA
Verne estimated that the mission would have cost his day’s equivalent to $12.1 billion. Surprisingly spot on–the Apollo program up through Apollo 8 (the first manned vehicle to circumnavigate the moon) cost $14.4 billion. As with the book, that mission also a crew of three astronauts. Verne’s were named Ardan, Barbicane, and Nicholl–Apollo 8′s were Anders, Borman and Lovell.
The launch occurred 132 miles from the site of Verne’s prediction.

Interesting... Wonder if the recent provactions by sending B-52's over China was a warning to China not to go ahead with this launch?

The Apollo craft used a less efficient transfer orbit to get there faster so they didn't have to bring as much consumables (air, water, food). A robotic probe can afford to get there with a more efficient orbit and use less rocket fuel in doing so.
