@ Isobella,

Daijobu desu hf

We have our own in-official System (NGO) here
and when we observe only one single Station in a
upward Spiral we do nothing,
when the Point of Measurement is inside of Daiichi
we get a bit concerned but also only when the Level
go up for a few Hours!

There are Patterns in environmental Data,
when we can't observe this Pattern a wrong/ dead/ Ding Dong Instrument
is a high possibility

How close are you to Fukushima? It seems like we on the west coast are getting more radiation than Japan because of wind patterns.

Re: RADCON ALERT! Richland WA 505, San Jose, CA 303
netc, IIRC, uses EPA RADNET monitoring data. Those monitors are air-filtration devices and need to have the filters replaced every few weeks or they get high readings from accumulated (normal, as in before Fuku) output from coal plants in China, Volcanos, old CS-137 from Nuclear testing, etc.

Sure, there could be Fuku output in there, but the cycle is that you get high readings, EPA changes the filter, it goes down and the creeps up again. Rinse, repeat.

Bluefin tuna off the coast of Cali is radioactive ... It is not a maybe that we are affected. It is real. Here in Cali we get the feeling that our friends in Japan are a bit in denial about the situation. It seems like people over there are burying their heads in the sand. Meanwhile, over here, a lot of the sea life is turning up sick or mutated. I haven't eaten seafood from the Pacific in two years. It's super sad. I hope that your country can get things under control so we can have a healthy planet.

Why do you think Tepco is handling this so badly? And why is the Japanese government doing nothing? It is very confusing for us over here.

Re: RADCON ALERT! Richland WA 505, San Jose, CA 303
@ Isobella,

it is a very hot Topic where everyone try to be smarter than the other one.

Tepco is doing not "that bad" like the (uneducated?) majority think,
they done the nearly impossible thing to stop the Melt-Down under
really bad circumstances.

Not the "Classical and Real Shutdown" but a State of
"Quasi Cold-Shutdown" and this was and is a Feat which
many People do not understand because nearly no one of us
is a nuclear Scientist!

The IAEA is at the moment in Daiichi and this People are surprised
about the process of Tepco who build 5-6 whole new Buildings,
a few hundred Kilometer of Electricity, Water, Data Lines,
two huge Water Filtration Plants who are able to remove ca. 99%
of all Radioactivity, countless (ca. 2.000?) Water-Tanks, etc., etc.,
i could go on for a few more Paragraphs but the
best is to look for it by yourself :hiding;

Until now Tepco worked more than 1.800.000 Man Working-Hour,
since 3/11 which is immense in such a short Time and in that Environment!

All is Relative and always People do and should demand the Impossible,
but there is a point when Critique is plain Childish.

I forgot Seafood:
to stop it now is imo. childish and a typical Over-reaction,
stop it when you know it is polluted,
the Traces they found in the Tuna in 2012 do not justify such a radical Step.

But the People in the US need to check the Fish,
like we do hf

Do not wait for your Government to do this,

Almost always, these high readings are anomalous. Right now on radiationnetwork.com it shows Denver with a higher (50) reading. My detector has never shown any significant rise in the past couple of years, and yes, it has been recently calibrated at a lab.

"Homeland Security" wants to put small radiation detectors in your smartphone. One can imagine what would happen if a citizen with these enabled smartphones drives past your place at it gives an anomalous high reading... suddenly you would find a NEST team with a MRAP barging down your door! For nothing.

Oddly, Blackcat systems' radiation tracker map has been disabled by Google for the past week or so.

Hmmmm....

Matthew 6:9-13
King James Version (KJV)

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

chuckle very cute! hf But you are correct, I do not make threads often so this is very important. Just checked and more higher levels throughout map. Yes I believe it is coming from fukushima. Watch the wind patterns as higher levels are reported spreading west to east. In response to the poster saying last A he saw was Oct. I have seen more since then but usually one at a time, which then had made me think of radiation release from a local plant. But with three A's on the map right now along with a lot of rising and elevated as well. No doubt in my mind it's fukushima. hiding

Here is what someone very "educated" has to say about eating seafood from the Pacific:

Interview with Dr. Charles Perrow, professor emeritus at Yale University and author of the award-winning book Normal Accidents: Living With High Risk Technologies, Nov. 11, 2013:

Q: Do you think it’s safe to eat seafood – salmon, tuna – from the Pacific? A: No. […] I haven’t stopped because I’m at an ancient age where before it could affect me, I will have died of other causes. So I haven’t stopped, but I recommend to my granddaughter who lives in Berkeley California that they be very cautious about the amount seafood from the Pacific that they consume.

This "detection" website has NO STANDARDS. They allow any idiot to go and buy there 50-100 dollar piece of Chinese made plastic and say its a well built radiation detector. I bet 95% of the units they use for information are NEVER calibrated because people most certainly do not know how to do it.( if its even possible) I was reading through there forums and saw what they accept as a passable piece of equipment. It looks like something a 5th grader made in science class. Wake me up when this website starts to set standards that require people to use ACTUALLY FUNCTIONING PRODUCTS

Funny you mention that. I was enjoying a cup of coffee all bundled up out back. I like to in the cold clear mornings. Especially in Nov and Dec. As you know, we never know the next time we'll see the sun. Anyways, all clear, even a big lack of commercial air traffic. Then right at 9:30 sharp, like most mornings, the trails start. Of course always in the part of the sky where the sun is.

I did have the awful metallic taste the other day, maybe Monday or Sunday. Like whatever i eat, still there bad. I usually just think it me. But this time I was at the grocery store. And I picked up some tic tacs. The clerk mentioned in passing, mints are really popular today. Granted it's a big grocery store and you know all the sweets at cheek out. But goodness, it made me double take.
