I think you are missing the main point....that the cover photo was obviously edited, radically edited. Either the magazine or MO herself have decided her true image isn't good enough to go untouched.

Well I think she looks fine as she is.I hate to see photos chopped and air brushed so much that they dont even look like the person they are suppose to be.Looks more like Boyance than it does her.Also makes her look much smaller and shorter than she is.Her face looks so thin she looks almost sickly.
She needs to just be herself and look like herself.Nothing wrong with her natural self.

Every world first lady's photo is photoshopped - Malaysia , Thailand. Babara Bush, Nancy Reagen etc you name it except perhaps Queen Noor of Jordan photo which you can jerk on .

You know, that's an excellent question.

I don't blame photoshop...it's just an often-misused tool.

I do blame the media for creating an impossible standard of beauty and if that standard isn't met they use deceit to fake it. I also blame our shallow society for not only putting up with it but expecting it.

I don't personally find MO physically attractive, but that's beside the point, really. She prides herself on "being real" and being a strong black role model for women and yet she lets a magazine put a prettier, whiter version of herself on its cover. I find that incredibly hypocritical and ugly.
