I think there are probably ways for them to see us through the screen,

There has to be other ways for them to spy on us that we are not aware of..and I am sure they do it.
If they can do it with xbox kinect, they can do it with anything
so, more than likely, there is some sort of sensor in our computer screens that we are not aware of and will never be able to disable. :(
