and here I thought I was going nuts!!! I've noticed this has been going on for quite a while now, spooked me out as I noticed the same thing about ads popping up related to conversations going on in the room, that yes the topic at hand was never "searched" for on the computer. I can safely say I'm not paranoid, yet, just security conscious. Excellent post OP  Thank you, my friend, that's exactly why I posted this thread - because so many of us either think it's "coincidence" or...it's "just us"...when it's happening on a much larger scale and is obviously part of an ongoing (and probably expanding) program of spying that affects all of us. I think awareness of this seems to be growing so I wonder when someone will actually ask the droids over at Fakebook or Google, etc., about this practice of spying on us and then producing ads that mysteriously pop up about the topic we were "privately" discussing. Thank you for bringing up this topic that needs all the awareness it can get! I actually posted about it on "fakebook" to bring it to other peoples attention as well *I'm sure a good majority will think I've gone nuts" but what I'm really interested in is since I've brought it up on "Fakebook" will the ads *spying* stop for a while? or will it continue on as usual? I've got a friend in on it as well who's going to join me in an experiment on this, should be interesting, makes me want to dust off my copy of 1984 for some reason I think that's an excellent approach - try manipulating the system to see what it responds to. My guess is that it's pretty automated so the ads will probably continue, but who knows. You might try throwing out more bizarre stuff to see what kinds of ads you get - medical problems or surgical procedures, etc...and take screen shots to show people. I don't know how widespread this is - if it's something that EVERYONE is being exposed to or if they're trying it with "test" groups. I'll be interested to see if your posting about this on Fakebook stays up! You can always refer people to these threads on GLP too!
