OP, do you have an Android phone? Google listens through your Android phone then serves ads to your computer based on what it hears. Wouldn't be suprised if they listen through the mic on your computer too though.

And we can't forget the cameras either. Thanks for bringing that up, excellent point. Actually I don't think my source has a Google phone, just some kind of really basic cell phone. These seem to be conversations that took place in the house though, among family members. I don't use Facebook either but I would think it would be a third party ad server on their so related ads will pop up all over the net when you're surfing. It actually happens to me all the time and I know the Android listens and does this but never really thought about the mic on my laptop. I'm sure they're listening there too. And to clarify, it's not just when you're talking on the phone, it's anytime. The Facebook connection apparently is very graphic and explicit as the products or services that showed up were for unusual things. And it's happened several times so it's not coincidence. What's creepiest about this is that these products and services were ONLY MENTIONED IN VERBAL CONVERSATIONS....NOT on the computer in writing or searching. So...they have mics and programs that can process our private speech for commercial (and other) purposes. Thanks for your comment about the third party ad server, that's very interesting.
