New 19-year cycle beginning? (Scorpio solar eclipse, Uranus-Pluto square, blood moon tetrad, 12/16/13)

From where do the Chanukah candles derive their power not merely to dispel darkness, but to transmute it into light?

The opposites that form the graceful symmetry of Chanukah are those of darkness and light, or as referred to in the Aramaic idiom of the Zohar -- "transforming chashocha (darkness) into nahora (light)."

We can now begin to understand how the Chanukah candles succeed in transforming darkness into light. Reflective symmetry is the result of two inverse elements possessing a hidden reference to each other. By defining themselves in perfect contradistinction to one another, such elements enter into a symmetrical bond which attests to an underlying unity forming their common source. So it is with darkness and light. Just as light itself possesses the potential to blind one with its radiance (thus testifying to the source of "darkness" included within light), so too does darkness hold within it the potential for illumination (the power of the color black to "shine").

In truth, the hidden light inhering within darkness is infinitely more beautiful than the revealed light which we naturally experience. This is apparent as well from the verse in Ecclesiastes (2:13) which reads: "As the advantage of light over darkness, so is the advantage of wisdom over folly." Although this is the accepted understanding of the verse, a purely literal reading of the words suggests an alternative interpretation: "As the advantage of light from darkness, so is the advantage of wisdom over folly" -- the implication being that the light which emerges from within darkness itself is the true source of wisdom's superiority.

The hidden light which inheres within darkness must be "sparked" into consciousness if it is to transform the opaque realm of Creation into a translucent expanse of Divine light. Herein lies the secret of redemption, expressed in Kabbalah as the process of redeeming those fragments or "sparks" of Divine light which were scattered throughout the universe when the primordial vessels of light fashioned at the dawn of Creation shattered, descending into the lower realms. Parallel to the cosmic restoration of these Divine sparks, there takes place a process here below whereby the lost souls of Israel are aroused to reembrace their people, their land, and their God.

Rebirth and Redemption

In the twilight hours of November 3rd our planet will be reborn beneath the power of a total solar eclipse. It will occur in the House of Scorpio, the House where life is redeemed. The ancient legend of the Phoenix will soon come to life as we become awestruck with the prolific events which will soon bring endings and new beginnings to every soul and future. Something big surely is going on! And the upheaval related to these revolutionary energies has a very positive hidden meaning, which is revealed at the November 1st Uranus-Pluto square:

(1) Barbara Hand Clow states that the November 1, 2013 Uranus-Square-Pluto chart shows that "the masses are going to receive a revelation of truth."

(2) This ties in with a correspondence I explored in one of my newsletters the possible correspondence between the 7 chakras and the 7 Uranus-Pluto Squares. If that correspondence holds up, then the Uranus Pluto Square on November 1, 2013 corresponds with the HEART CHAKRA, which reveals a Leap into LOVE and an opening of the Heart of Humanity.

(3) We usually cast charts for the aspects of planets from our perspective here on Earth; but another way of looking at the aspects between the planets is to look at them as if you were standing on the Sun. This is called the HELIOCENTRIC chart of an event. The Heliocentric chart reveals only ONE occurrence of any planetary interaction, because retrograde motion is not involved; so it is a pristine glimpse into the nature of that aspect. The Heliocentric Uranus-Pluto Square occurs on November 23, 2013 and the chart shows something quite remarkable according to Barbara Hand Clow: the chart shows that "the solar system is having a mystical awakening - and that it's taking place on earth." - Barbara Hand Clow. This is a very hopeful and positive piece of information indeed.

(4) Eclipse expert and astrologer Bernadette Brady identifies the November 3, 2013 eclipse as a part of SAROS 16 NORTH: She describes the inception chart of this eclipse series in her book 'Predictive Astrology: The Eagle and The Lark': "Uranus forms a trine to Neptune, and Venus is on the midpoint of the New Moon/Mercury. ...This is a gentle family of eclipses which brings a sense of inspiration or the illumination of ideas. The presence of the Uranus-Neptune combination talks of the sudden release of material from the unconscious which brings with it a great deal of insight. These ideas are good and the individual would be wise to act upon them. Some of the eclipses in this series, from 1900-2050: 1905, 1923, 1941, 1959, 1977, 1995, 2013, 2031, 2049.

Venus retrograde on the winter solstice! She moves from Evening Star to Morning Star!

DECEMBER 21 2013 – JANUARY 31 2014

Venus goes retrograde about every year and a half, for about 6 weeks at a stretch. When Venus is near the retrograde station, she can be seen fairly high in the western sky for up to four hours after sunset, depending on the time of year and how close she is to the station. Venus becomes the "Evening Star" for several months before turning retrograde and for a mere couple of weeks after the retrograde station. During this time, she appears higher and higher in the darkening western sky.

Then Venus disappears for about two weeks, as she retrogrades across "our side" of the Sun. She then reappears progressively earlier, as the "Morning Star," before sunrise.
