Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49368268 yes plants are alive too and if you were to disrespect a plant before consuming it, you would experience that as well, though the degree of pain/trauma would be less. blessing your food helps but that pain is stored deep inside the tissue of what you eat. sure your body may be healthy, but your soul is weakened when you consume another animal. so a nice balance would be to find where your body is happy and healthy and your soul is lifted instead of weighed down by what it consumes. when I ate meat, I never ate a burger that was happy about being eaten.. but i do get that sensation from eating spinach and carrots after I have thanked them. food for thought. She's gotten very creative and come up with some good new dishes for us to try. That means I've been conducting my experiment of not eating meat for a little over a month now. What I've gathered thus far: It seems everyone has a problem with this concept. Friends, family, food servers, random people on a forum somewhere.. I have no idea why its such a big freakin deal. Why ridicule and harass people that aren't eating meat. People have an ADDICTION to meat. Their react the same way a smoker would if you took their cigarettes. Personally.. it has been so easy. SOOOOOO easy. A month of "other" stuff has been the biggest non-issue in my life. Whoopty-freakin-do There is a discussion to be had. Why is it that a meal isn't complete without a dead animal on the table. So weird. My experiment has saved me money. Meat is expensive. It's also been a big deterrent from eating out. Again.. saving money. Eating smaller portion sizes.. controlling quality etc.. You have got to admit.. meat filled with antibiotics and hormones, raised in awful conditions, processed in awful ways with nasty chemicals, by poorly educated people.. is nasty. and this: |

We have been programmed to eat the "American Diet" of Meat, Starch, Sugar, Dairy, and very few vegetables. The main diet these days is processed food which has no life in it. We need energy in order to stay healthy, physically, mentally and spiritually. Best place to get this energy is by spending time in the Sun and eating plants and fruits which are baked in the Sun. Animals such as Deer, Squirrel, rabbit eat natural nuts, and plant life which is grown in the Sun. When people eat those animals they are not getting the energy straight from the Sun. When I gave up eating meat, I found sharper mental abilities, less inflammation and pain, smoother skin, hair and nail growth increased, less desire for the material world. I also found animals walking up to me in the wild. Anyway good topic but you should tell people the benefits of giving up something we have been doing since birth. Never think of yourself higher than others because of what you eat. We all learn at different rates. Be a teacher and you will find you will gather a lot of supporters even the ones who love eating meat. If you Juice or make smoothies, show others who don't like eating so many vegetables. I have not found anyone who doesn't like good juice. The ones that don't like eating vegetables enjoy the juice. Remember we all need to help others by being teachers. Peace to you and everyone. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47767372 PETA = People Eating Tasty Animals ! your post and reasoning skills are proving my point. The bible told them they have dominion over animals. That means they can abuse, exploit, kill, eat, hunt, or anything else they choose to do to them. It is sanctioned and approved by god. No shit. That is how the majority of the populace thinks. Some people think that passage means that Adam had sex with every single animal in the Garden. |

What was your results? I read Dr. Emoto's book on Water a few years ago when I was getting into energy healing. It opened my eyes to what is happening around us. We are 70% or more of water. When we see violence or hatred it causes the water that makes up our bodies look stagnant. The longer we are around negative emotions the more depressed and sick we become. TV is full of negativity that creates a sick environment. I now use this rice experiment in my office as a teaching tool. I recreated what Dr. Emoto did by cooking some rice and putting it in Two jars. One Jar I labeled Beautiful and the other was labeled Nasty. After 26 months the one labeled Beautiful still looks edible but the one labeled Nasty, reflects it's name. This proves to me that water has consciousness that we are unaware of. Now smile and say Hi to everyone you meet and watch their reactions. Most will smile back even when having a bad day. These are some old pictures I took over one year ago. The Nasty rice has now almost turned to mush. Thoughts, food, and emotions play a huge role in how we interact. [link to s1163.photobucket.com] Peace Last Edited by Amy_A on 11/03/2013 02:12 PM Amy |

And we said blessing over our meal. My family has eaten this way for centuries. My soul is at peace. And I am thankful for the nourishment. And for the nourishment provided to my children. To suggest there is something wrong with this is ignorance of the spirituality of this way of life. |

As the soul is infinite and only the body finite.. who showed greater strength in their experience? the man who killed his best friend to save his own life? or the one who saw his pet as an equal and instead accepts his own mortality. I for one would like to have a conversation with the second man as he seems to be stronger willed and of greater compassion and understanding. |
