2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
Deuteronomy 4:2

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Revelation 22:19

Good going Op, now you have given reason for these verses contained in God's Word - it is a sealed book, cannot pick and choose the parts you like.

How did God know this battle would be waged against His Word? Oh yes that's right, He is God, eternal, all knowing, and the final authority, not failing to address some hater of His Word coming down the line of self taught scholars
 Quoting: Ohwow!

Revelation is a Sealed book. When those words were written, there was no compilation. I've got all the eschatological prophesy I need straight from Christ himself in the Gospels. I realize as I get older Revelation is not a book for the Follower of Christ. It is a book for those who build the church and keep it. It is a codex, not a teaching or lesson that has practical application for everyday people.

It's a bit like teaching music theory to the jug blower.

For many years I wanted to be a Musician, but at the end of the day I humbly blow on a Jug.

Deuteronomy is part of Torah, a book of Hebrew law for Israel under the covenant with entity known as Yahweh.

It is not for me. I can have a pork rib sandwich if I want to, because Christ told me it is not what Goes into my mouth that defiles me, but what comes out.

Christ's sacrifice and gift to mankind is all that is needed of anyone, even just to accept and believe, just as the Thief on the Cross. Even this man found salvation just for accepting Christ at the last moment. I don't recommend we live that way and go about it like that, but at the end of the day, only the Gospels are necessary and stuff like the words of Paul only divide and confuse the core.
