If you do condiments, well, you'd just have to spread that stuff on yourself. :) Quoting: AnonymousGirl Oh, and I don't do bread so come to think of it, your sandwich would be between two pieces of lettuce. Ewww really? how can you not like bread or condiments ? and more importantly even if you do not like these things, why would you not have them around to make a delicious sammich for your man that loves bread and condiments? what trickery you have.. If i get really fancy i will roll up some meat balls made out of Italian sausage and throw it in the pot also.. Are you one of them gluten-free people? If so why? Is it a diet thing? I could never do that, I would starve to death.. I am a meat and potatoes kinda guy. Nothing fancy, just fuel that tastes good... You should throw some broccoli in. :) If you like broccoli... Pretty much. I heard the author of Wheat Belly talking on a news program, and then I bought his book. After reading that, I decided to try not to eat wheat anymore. I eat meat, lots of veggies, and once in a while potatoes. Lots of soup, salads. You can still eat tasty meals without the wheat. I do miss my chicken noodle soup though. :( When I went wheat-free and cleared out my cupboards, there was next to nothing left. Even canned tomato soup has wheat in it...and that was another one of my favourite things for lunch. |

I am a little leery about all these diet fads that say you cant eat certain staple items like wheat or fat or meat etc. For hundreds of thousands of years humanity has survived just fine on the basic staples like veggies during the summer and meat and potatoes all winter long. Bread and pasta is made from wheat so its easy to store without refrigeration and can be eaten year long. Its just recently with the advancement of transportation and refrigeration tech that we humans have access to all sorts of designer food products year long. I think if anything is making us sick, its that we eat too much random and specialized foods we never had access too until a hundred or so years ago. Our bodies never get used to one food item, our diets are always changing. staples like wheat, meat, veggies, and potatoes are what we survived on throughout history. are you healthier now without the wheat in your diet? more energy? skinnier? what is the benefits of it? I am not picking on you, just honestly curious.. "Fear paints pictures of ghosts and hangs them in the gallery of ignorance." Robert Green Ingersoll |

I am not picking on you, just honestly curious.. Yes, but the wheat from today is nothing like the wheat from years ago. I don't call myself "gluten-free" or even give it a label. I just don't eat anything containing wheat. I do not buy "gluten-free" anything. I feel a LOT better. I never had a weight problem or anything, but I was feeling tired all the time, and when I would bring pasta for my lunch, I used to get the bloated feeling where I felt like a blimp afterwards! I do have more energy, and I just feel better overall. I shared the book with mom...she had been taking Certo for really bad arthritis in her fingers. She also has Type 2 Diabetes. She no longer has ANY pain in her fingers, and does not take anything. All she did was cut out the wheat. Her sugar has been in the 5s which means she will not have to be on any pills for the diabetes. Her last physical...her blood pressure was the lowest it has been in 30 years, and she is on a bunch of meds for high blood pressure. My Dad also has type 2, and his readings were always in the 7s or 8s, and for the first time since he can remember, they've been in the 6s and sometimes 5s. He's not as diligent with the wheat as my mom is. I'm not a preacher though. Live and let live. I just choose not to eat wheat, but I don't make a fuss about it or impose my needs on other people. :) |

That night, he was practically in a coma, and his pills did not work at all. The only other things he ate were the turkey and veggies. He doesn't do gravy or mashed potatoes. So the only thing that would have caused that was the stuffing made with white bread. |
