User ID: 22937658 United States 09/18/2021 06:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Poor Mini. That surgery was quite invasive of course and it takes time to heal. Hope she feels better soon Sim. She's a real trooper! Quoting: InterMezzo And Happy Birthday to nanny. Pity you can't go, but I am sure you'll find a moment to celebrate with her shortly as well. I wish nanny's party could be rescheduled. A lot of us can't make it. My mom and dad aren't going because my mom is sick, my youngest sister, her husband and their baby can't go because her husband has covid and the baby is sick. Nef made nanny her favorite pie (apple pie) and he's going to make his pecan pie so we can send it to the party. I'll drop them off tomorrow morning to nanny and visit her before she heads out to the party. I feel so bad that I have to miss it, but Mini needs me and she comes before everything in the world. Nanny and my mom are tied for second lol. ;) Aw hon, don't beat yourself up so hard. Your Nan knows. She loves you all, but she understands. Promise. Trust me, when it comes to grands and great grands, gramma's understand and you're doing exactly what she expects you to do. Littles come first, even if they're big! LOL |

She's doing better now. I think it was from going all night without a pain pill. We won't let that happen again tonight. Gonna set an alarm for the middle of the night so she can take one. Quoting: Simple27 Nanny's 80th birthday is tomorrow and my aunt is having a little party for her, but my aunt lives about 45 minutes away. I'm gonna have to miss it. I don't feel right leaving Mini alone for several hours. She still needs help with everything, even sitting up from a laying down position. Aww, poor kid. Glad the pain medicine has lessened the pain. Hope she can get comfortable and relax. They only sent in a prescription for 5 pain pills. Five. Like that was going to be enough. I had to call the hospital today and ask them to call in a few more. She still has 1 left from the original script but obviously that wouldn't have gotten her through the worst of the pain. Unreal. Denying pain meds after any kind of surgery is CRIMINAL. The few they give you are never enough. The doctor should have given more to begin with. But the ice for 3 days at least is important. Swelling = pain. We learned that if the pain meds are every 4 hours, then advil type meds every 4 also, but staggered. You end up taking something every 2 hours, one the pain and then the advil. Seems to control the pain better. Quoting: WhiteAngel 80 years! That is We're alternating Ibuprofen and Tylenol every 3 hours. She's only taken 2 of the oxycodone so far today and has been pretty good after this morning's pain. I'm thinking she will take one more oxycodone before bed and then I will set my alarm for about 4.5 hours after she falls asleep to wake her up and give her another with some Tylenol. Then we will see how she's doing tomorrow morning after that. We've been icing almost constantly. They sent her home with perfect sized/shape ice bags for the locations needed. We just keep refilling with ice whenever it melts. She's on the recliner now and I think she's sleeping. :) ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

I think we can only get like 10 days worth at a time. I know why they did it, but it has tons of unintended consequences. |

But at least it’s a pain that can be managed. Hang in there. |

It was basically 1 day worth. I'm heading to CVS momentarily to pick up the refill. At least they called this in without argument. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |
