There are reports of dogs becoming ill and dying after eating the treats – and the numbers are increasing. Recalls have become all too common. Those jerky treats made my dog really sick a few years ago, at the first news breaks about it. Took him weeks of home-cooked food and treats, lots of filtered water, but he's good now. Aside from that, it's nearly impossible to buy pet toys or human toys that are NOT from China, I've been Christmas shopping for the grandbaby and am completely disgusted by it. |

Most of the cases have been in dogs of all breeds, ages, shapes and sizes, although 10 cats have been sickened, too. The pace of the reported illnesses appears to have slowed, but federal Food and Drug Administration officials are now seeking extra help from veterinarians and pet owners in solving the ongoing puzzle. I once purchased some Southern Fried Chicken Breasts, Stamped EU/UK on the box. When I opened the box, it was stamped "Produced in the People's Republic Of China". "Packed in the People's Republic of China". I took the product back to the store where I purchased it from, made a complaint, and got a refund. As it turned out, the box was made in the UK. |

We don't regulate animal food like WE should. But critical thinking should dictate don't feed anyone something from china. Awww, damn it. It was a great quote too. Conversation NOT Confrontation |

[link to www.wrcbtv.com] It's your own dang fault if you buy made in china. It's a well known fact they place no value on human life let alone animals. They are in it to make as much cash as possible. Quit buying made in china and your risks of being affected by something like this will drop by over 75%. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 27137898 United States 10/22/2013 05:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Made in USA can be misleading though. Some US manufacturer's import ingredients from China. If there is any question, don't risk it. Trader Joes has US sourced and made chicken jerky treats and Charley Bear brand liver treats, also US made. For food, I feed my dog Nutrisca but have also heard great things about Origen. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 37735747 Canada 10/22/2013 06:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Anything made in China should be boycotted. They don't care about animals or people in general, just about money. I try not to buy anything made in china if I can, even my clothing. The only thing I do purchase is their peeled garlic but even then I should stop purchasing that. Purchase local and support our local farmers and manufacturers, put money back into the local economy not some other country. |
