I think a lot of people stepped off the doom bandwagon after the whole comet elenin thing turned out to be a big disappointment... At least that's how it was for me. Oh and you can't forget 2012 and all those non-eventful CMEs/solar-flares. Or catastrophic climate change.
At this point all we can really count on is the slow devaluation of the dollar, bullshit political showdowns, and other bullshit that occurs over a long period of time.

Not just on the doom, but religion too. Beliefs. If I could stomach the taste of Beer or tolerate sports games, I think I'd just grab a six-pack and watch Baseball and to hell with everything else like "Joe Normal" Perhaps I will entertain things in the mind that will not be spoken or typed or discussed for months for no payoff. Just..."Interesting" or "Not interesting" and I think that's going to be my milquetoast forum presence going forward. I just can't stand it anymore.
