Any Audiophiles in the house? Looking for speaker advice.
Okay GLP. I'm taking a break from the doom this saturday and need some advice.

My husband and I have a pretty killer audio setup in our family room, but he's looking to hang the TV on the wall and would like some wall-mountable speakers that are as close in sound quality to our current setup as possible.

Our current setup is:

Paradigm Studio 40s - Front surround
Paradigm Studio 20s - Rear surround
Paradigm Studio CC-470 v.3 - Center channel
Paradigm PS-1000 - Subwoofer

We have these set up now as a 5.1 system, so we're looking for something similar.

I've done a little bit of research and I know that Paradigm has some wall-mountable speakers they call the Cinema series.

Also, I found Kef T205 speakers that look pretty awesome as well.

Has anyone listened to the Paradigm Cinema or the Kef T205 speakers and can give me a yay or nay? Or do you have or know of a wall-mountable system that has good sound?

I haven't been able to find Kef or Paradigm on display to listen to at any local electronics stores so we haven't been able to hear them for ourselves.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I used to be really into audio stuff, but now, I just don't care anymore. The world is on the brink of total doom every day, I'd rather not waste my final days on earth worrying about electronics.

But that's me.. I'm an optimist.

Best of luck bro.

Sears has this for about $1500. You couldn't go too far wrong with Klipsch.

Then you never heard a set of Maggies on a Van Alstine Tube Amp. Small cones just cant not compare to over 6 sq feet of radiating surface area. Im sorry, there is no comparison. I can accurately any source materiel and I assure you my library is very extensive and I can only "listen" to about 5 percent as I hear flaws in the other 96 percent.

Re: Any Audiophiles in the house? Looking for speaker advice.
Oh Paradigm speakers... Nice... I auditioned some Paradigm Studio something or others (80's I think?) several years ago and liked them a lot... Here is something to consider.... You already have a rather nice speaker set up.... So if you replace them or 'upgrade' - you might not notice as much as an enhancement or improvement than if you have been coming from having nothing or a crappy set-up.... So you definitely have to weigh the cost-effectiveness of upgrading in relation to how much of an improvement you will experience.... I would definitely say that you need to find a local dealer and be able to audition what you're thinking about purchasing - so you can be certain that it will be worth it.

I used to be really into audio stuff, but now, I just don't care anymore.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47561020

Same here... I used to work for a company that owns/operates several high end manufacturers in this field and these types of products were appealing to me for a period of time....

Best Buy's with Magnolia Home Theaters inside will offer some higher end products but not if you are talking about really high-end ($$$$) stuff.... I know they have carried KEF, Martin Logan, etc....

Fry's - probably not.... I shutter at that name because I used to deal with that company on the business end of things.... They apparently higher a lot of workers who don't have a strong command for the english language or professional business standards...

Try magnolia, good demo room, good selection of audiophile level products. I myself am a B&W fan, very clear recreation with amazing sound staging, they also have in walls, as well as mountable bookshelves.

Paradigm sounds a bit more like martin Logan though, and their ESL'S literally remove the room from the equation, and they also have some wall mountable electrostatics. Very bright sounding
