Quoting: Freckles I am so excited to stand with the VETERANS and TRUCKERS this weekend! Wouldn't miss it for ANYTHING!!! So, does my GLP Family have a certain CB CHANNEL I should tune into this weekend? Hoping to meet AND STAND UP WITH some of you amazing folks!!! I need to learn a little more of the RADIO LINGO... "Breaker Breaker For a Sound Check" is about all I've used thus far! I bought the radio mainly so I wouldn't miss out on all the CHATTER! Stay safe EVERYONE who's going! I'll take pictures!!!  Everyone should have one. They are cheap and it could save your life someday. |

Well, hopefully by the end of the weekend maybe I'll be a pro! The above LINGO was the only thing I could remember from watching my parents on their CB. lol. Thank you! Channel 19 is the primary trucker channel...I'd keep it there, but searching around the channels may get you some interesting conversations both en route and once you are close to the activity. CB generally isn't good for more than a couple of miles on flat ground unless you are running a lot of illegal power and a great antenna. Just jump in and have fun, helps pass the time while driving. I know the voices aren't real, but man do they come up with some great ideas! Semper Fi USMC Very much an Occams Razor kind of guy. Well what sucks is that some of us have real family members who have to drive down the Beltway a couple times a week at least. My dad got the hell out of there earlier today and when he loaded back up he asked them if he could avoid D.C. for now and he was told no because that is all the loads they have at the present time. So now my dad is stuck there in the middle of all of whatever is going to happen. |
