Question about FDIC...
I do not bank with a large, mainstream bank. Rather, I use a smaller local bank. Is this option any safer than the alternate? Why or why not?

IF my bank were to go under/bankrupt/etc, I don't feel that I can trust the whole FDIC thing. I mean, our government is 16+ trillion in debt right? How would they cover the losses?

I have money in the bank to go towards the purchase of a home, and my lender needs to see it there to know I'm not pulling funds out of my ass I guess, but I don't WANT it there. What can I do?

Re: Question about FDIC...
when you go to sign up for a loan, you just assume the money is already sitting there in the back of the bank right?

you figure they ALREADY have the money to loan out...

but in reality, the money does not exist.
they create it out of thin air when they give you that loan.
it never existed before!

so they loan you money they never even had to begin with and then charge you the principal and interest.

can you see how they are taking advantage of people?

Your avatar drives me nuts!
"The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title."

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women
