What is not often mentioned was that many churches agreed to not preach against or criticize the government in exchange for that tax-exemption status (which was unofficially in place before 1984). Since then, most every denomination has become liberal and even supportive of the government. |

Events such as the Oklahoma City bombing and the 9-11 attacks have impacted militia organizations by refocusing their interests. While many militia members are not law violators, the presence of members who have more radical beliefs, such as Christian Identity, is a matter of concern. Huh? Pastor doesn't come right out and say which side he is on, but it's pretty clear. I truly believe if push came to shove and it was a matter of protecting our faith, he would speak up. I'm not sure where this peaceful, wimpy Jesus came from. The hippies or something? Jesus freaked out and overturned tables of the money changers in the temple. Never once did he say he was cool with someone doing something wrong. He always told them to stop and don't do it again. He was most definitely not a tolerant man. |

Yes, I realize that was in house cleaning. But it still goes against this frilly, prancing, hippy Jesus people like to think of. Yes, we are only to judge our fellow Christians, not unbelievers. And I'm not even saying He would approve of violence toward our government. After all, David taught us to respect those God has put in leadership...even when he was trying to kill him. I'm just pointing out that Jesus was not against using force. |
