Toss an egg in to poach, slice up a couple green onions and add some red pepper flakes. Makes a meal. If you like spicy, add some Sriracha.

According to a corporate spokesperson ALL Sam’s Club locations are now participating in the military waiver program. Active Duty, Retirees and anyone else with commissary privileges — can show their military IDs to Sam’s Club employees at the door where they would usually have to show their Sam’s Club membership. No 10% nonmember fee will be charged.

The communist douchebag obama seeks only to hurt the average person attempting to create misplaced anger and make the useless community organizer “president” conjuring visions of himself as a helpless victim.

Either people will see his deceitfulness and turn their backs on him or he has already created his government dependent class who will follow him for leftover crumbs.

Seems there are quite a few military people here. So, Food Lion (or at least they did the last time the commissaries were closed [furlough days]) offered I believe 20% discounts for those with a military ID. SAMS club is offering free membership (basically they are just waiving the fees) to anyone with an active duty military ID.

Just to put that out there. That is here on the East Coast, what they are doing elsewhere, I do not know.

His administration is going out of its way to make people needlessly suffer during this shutdown.

Take the commissaries as an example. Those that shop at the commissary should be familiar with a `surcharge' that is on the bottom of every receipt. What is the surcharge for? To pay for the commissary!

He's closing public places that are unmanned and open to the public 24/7. Oh what's that...you want to stop in that rest area and take a picture of that beautiful view? Sorry, the administration has determined that that area should be closed...chain that mother fucker up!

How about George Washington's home? Nope, you cannot go there --- even though it does not receive any federal funds (see this thread: Thread: OBAMER attempting to close down GEORGE WASHINGTON HOME (it's privately owned) ).

The shitbag in the White House is punishing people because he does not want negotiate on any aspect of his obamacare law. So, what do the republicans want? They want small businesses and individuals to treated fairly, they want a one year delay on the individual mandate (something that large corporations have received), and they want to delay a draconian increase in the medical device tax.

It boggles my mind that anyone would be against what the republicans are trying to achieve right now. Even the crazy `I hate big business' liberals should be supporting a one year delay in the individual mandate --- mega corporations get the delay --- but they are so brainwashed and in love with ``the first black president'' that they cannot see through his bs.

Thank you everyone for supporting this thread. Our military should be exempt from the government shut down.
I am embarrassed by our president treating our active duty and retired vets with such disrespect. Obamacare is still open...and the military/civilian services are still closing.
Please spread the word. Fox news and MSN should be demanding an answer from president Obama as to why Obama care is open when the government is shut down.

Obama also needs to be called out for calling the republican party a faction. Think about what the word faction brings to mind. We are a great nation and to have called half our population a "faction" is a complete attack on our senses. We may not agree point to point.....but republicans, democrats and liberty parties are not and will never be "factions".

The disaster drill is being described as a crisis practice unlike anything the real power grid has ever experienced. The GridEX II drill Nov. 13-14 will focus primarily on how governments will react if the electrical grid fails and, for instance, the food supply chain collapses.

It is a control tactic to bring as must hurt to the average citizen and especially the military and retirees and although the closure of Commissary and BX, PX facilities does not harm retirees as much as those on active duty trying to raise a family.

The military is suffering because CONUS Commissary and BX, PX stores are closed since the communist obama regime cannot close these facilities overseas instead they are stopping sports coverage overseas.

Now the Whitehouse communist loons are whoring for your sad stories pertaining to selective targeted shutdowns by the obama communist minions of deceit.

I do hope there is an awakening before all the people on foodstamps are impacted by the communist obama tactic of creating a government dependent class as foodstamps are funded by both state and federal funds. If communist obama laughs and pulls funding from foodstamps then the states cannot cover the losses.

OMG, Sam's is throwing a bone. A whole 25,00 off of a card. I'm sorry, Just seems like another let me scan your card deal. I know that military families are going to have a hard time without the commisary [sp] discounts and for that i am sorry. I just don't understand the mindset of a people that would work for someone that didn't pay them.

I really should look at everything you mentioned when I'm at Costco. I joined exactly one year ago. Having shopped at commissaries for 30+ years, I got so accustomed to it. Perhaps they aren't always the "bargain" I think they are, but they're convenient for the military living on base. I do NOT think the PX/BX have "bargains." I never buy clothes, shoes, cameras, household items and computers there. I can find much better savings elsewhere.

We shop at both Costco and the commissary.

Costco:
BEER
Ground Beef
Chicken Breasts/Thighs
Rice (we eat a lot of rice)
Canned Tomatoes(diced/sauce/whatever)/corn/beans
Mac-n-Cheese
Cheese
Paper Towels/Toilet Paper
Laundry Detergent/Fabric Softener
Toothpaste/Soap/Shampoo/Deodorant/Pads

Commissary:
Everything else you would need to feed yourselves (side dises, bagels, scalloped potatoes, etc). Pasta is usually cheaper at the commissary. Sausage/Kielbasa is usually cheaper at the commissary.

Overall, we only buy some items at Costco and we usually get the rest at the commissary.

The surcharge is 5%. I just went shopping. Eggland's Best extra large eggs are $2.00, large Eggland's Best are $1.40. A gallon of skim milk is $2.50, so with a 5% surcharge, a gallon of skim milk is $2.62. Not sure what it is elsewhere.
A pound of Kraft shredded sharp cheddar cheese is $3.00.
