(OP) User ID: 47405644 United States 10/03/2013 12:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If Congress cannot pass a budget or continuing resolution that creates funding for all aspects of the US government by the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30, the government will be forced to shut down, ending many services seen as “non-essential” until funding is created. If the shutdown extends into mid-October servicemembers will not receive a mid-month paycheck, but will instead be given “back pay” after funding is passed by Congress and signed by President Barrack Obama. Many civilian workers will be also be temporarily furloughed and will not receive back pay. Read more: [link to spousebuzz.com] SpouseBUZZ.com Love & Light... |

[link to www.youtube.com (secure)] On the day when the wagons come I just pray that you let me on Matthew 6:9-13 King James Version (KJV) 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. User ID: 39491380 United States 10/03/2013 09:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The communist douchebag obama seeks only to hurt the average person attempting to create misplaced anger and make the useless community organizer “president” conjuring visions of himself as a helpless victim. Either people will see his deceitfulness and turn their backs on him or he has already created his government dependent class who will follow him for leftover crumbs. |

User ID: 4346045 United States 10/03/2013 10:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I did the last minute shopping at the commissary on Sunday. I wondered how many people knew about the closing/shutdown two days later....so I asked a woman with a baby in her cart... she had no idea....never heard about a closing. Then I asked another woman who had two kids...probably 10 years and 7 years. She had no idea what I was talking about. Hmmmmm......I thought they were the first to know. They weren't. I'm retired and read about it on Free Republic...the only reason I went shopping and stocked up! Last Edited by nutmeg on 10/03/2013 10:49 PM |

Commissaries are convenient for military people living stateside and highly important to the retired military community many who shop only monthly for the best prices on food items. This barbaric imposition leads me to believe that communist obama is attempting to expand his government dependent class forcing active duty and retirees to depend upon food stamps. Think outside the communist obama’s attempt to box you into dependency and look for bulk foods to meet your needs and retain your independence from government control. If one door closes seek another. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 47122121 United States 10/03/2013 11:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | commissary is pretty much useless. back in the days when US bases were in Indian Territory and there were no local stores to speak of they were necessary. Now they're a scan mooching profits to fund big parties for the officers wives (whores) club and to buy yachts for senior officers. I haven't bought anything at a commissary in years because it's cheaper and less hassle out in town. |

I would think the young active military DO depend on the savings that the commissary affords. And yes....I still enjoy the savings even though I get the benefits of an Army officer who retired with 25+ years. I would be crazy not to. It's about 30% off the costs of supermarkets on the economy. I have compared prices....I honestly do not understand how a non military family affords to shop elsewhere. Anonymous Coward User ID: 46409155 United States 10/04/2013 12:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Now you want to know something truly conspiracy worthy? The inventory of these commissaries were strangely (or so it seemed at the time) depleted of inventory the week before. The switch is thrown on them, all the frozen foods (which there were still good amounts of), rotted or will be soon enough. They could have GIVEN this shit away to military families (or anyone else with commissary privileges) or at the least, given a deep discount. Instead, they would rather just take a total loss on the perishables. Makes sense right? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 46409155 United States 10/04/2013 12:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Seems there are quite a few military people here. So, Food Lion (or at least they did the last time the commissaries were closed [furlough days]) offered I believe 20% discounts for those with a military ID. SAMS club is offering free membership (basically they are just waiving the fees) to anyone with an active duty military ID. Just to put that out there. That is here on the East Coast, what they are doing elsewhere, I do not know. |
