How GORGEOUS!! I'm checking every five minutes, I'd go out of my mind if I saw that tonight. Caught one, long, green, thin, sweeper here in NE Pa. around 7-8 years ago coming in at 1 or 2am.

Ok. At a KP7 I should be able to see the aurora, right? I'm 60 miles SE of Indianapolis, Indiana, out in the country with no city lights to ruin the show.

It's a perfectly clear night. I can see every star imaginable but the sky looks just like it always does: black.

Do I live on a different planet or something?

Most of those photos are time lapse and enhanced. It is a false representation of what the northern lights really look like.

Same here. I live on the west side of Indianapolis and I'm not seeing anything but stars and a black sky?? Is there some kind of link that shows estimated times the lights should arrive per city?

Local midnight is the best time to view Auroras.

Well, the U.S. has pretty much collapsed since Obama took office in 2008. Not sure you can classify that as "nothing." But otherwise...yeah, I know what you mean. I'm hoping everyone's right and Jesus returns to take us out of here. Life sucks.

So, if I interpret this correctly - these aurora's will intensify over the next couple of day???

with all the aurora reports from as far south as Arkansas, I decided to check my other Kp models to see if they something different than NOAA (with the gov shut down im sure they are not full staffed)

One poster said Midnight is the best time to see them and if I drive a few miles down the road to the lake, the only place I can see the sky good, at 4:30 a.m., I will probably get stopped by a cop. Yeah, that's what the world is coming to. And then I'd be like all - there's a CME hitting us right now and I'm going to look for aurora's - and he's be all like - "Step outta the car please...."

I know, sooo sad and true. So mayber wait til tomorrow night at midnight, won't be as "risky", lol.
