In theory the 10th Amendment of the US Constitution already allows for this provision... So, I suppose if the Federal Government doesn't recover from this, it is in fact what will happen according to our founding documents...

In many ways I agree, though I think the system we have in place should theoretically work if we actually follow the constitution.

What has happened is massive corruption and a co-opting of our election process by big money. Both Republicans and Democrats are aware of this, and we now have a bought-and-paid-for government serving the wealth-interests of very few.

If they can't get their job done, it's time to replace the lot of' em. We need to get money out of our elections.

As soon as the law allows. Hold a vote of no confidence and proceed according to the latter of the law

Does the letter of the law allow for a vote of no confidence? --not sure how that might functionally be done.
