I was home. There was an attempted delivery note in my mailbox. That tells me one thing... the driver was too lazy to walk up to my door to attempt to deliver and just stuck the notice in my mailbox instead. I will say something to him when I see him. Lazy. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 46937877 United States 09/16/2013 01:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a carrier who's lazy & awful. She never rings or knocks if I have certified mail. She had my son run a certified letter to the house for a signature, because she's too lazy to walk to my door. Which, btw, was illegal for her to do. I filed two complaints & it made no difference. They are lazy employees, and act like they are above a drawn line, if you dare complain. USPS should be embarrassed by their employees, but lazy people are unable to recognize other lazy folk. |

I suppose filling out the form is too much work for him. And to think I got turned down for a job with them 15 yrs ago after I graduated college. I was told I scored too high on the test and would find the job boring. "Fortune, honour, beauty, youth are but blossoms dying. I get harassed by my employer over customer complaints and am held accountable for at least telling my side of the story. If I actually have a legimate complaint against my performance or attitude, I could get immediately released from employment. Funny how that doesn't work for many government employees. I cannot trust them any more with my precious items. I use UPS. Me either. I use UPS 99% of the time. They include the insurance, tracking, etc. in the total charge for shipping the item. I think it comes out about even, as the P.O. adds on those extra charges. Plus, UPS can be relied upon and their help is paid well. Hence, we get better service. User ID: 39491380 United States 09/16/2013 02:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I gave up on receiving packages delivered by USPS as either they did not deliver the package or left it at my stupid neighbors house who took it to now be his property thus creating more headaches for me and in turn the Post Office. My solution was to purchase a PO Box for packages and important mail thus eliminating all problems. United Parcel Service (UPS) always delivers to my door but they run to my front door or more often garage door and leave the package then run off after seeing and hearing my two giant breed dogs. |

Same rules apply. We're supposed to handle registerd mail like it's our first born child. We typically get fired or in a shit ton of trouble for losing/misdelivering such mail. As long as the package itself is accounted for, most likely your carrier won't get in any trouble for being lazy. I don't know what your carrier's deal is, but I'd go ahead and file a complaint with the consumer affairs dept. Don't bother calling the post office itself, as I've been doing this for about 9yrs I've seen complaint slips be tossed in the trash and no issues ever resolved. For the record I'll say being a mail lady isn't all that easy. Before I worked there I used to get pissed at my own carrier thinking "how fucking hard is it to match numbers all day?" All I can say is if you ever have the chance to give it a go, try it. Although that's unlikely seeing as how we're goin in the shitter. Hope this helps a little, OP. I don't care about any of you! |

I get that everyone makes mistakes and every job isn't as easy as it may appear, which is why I cut him a break last time. I just don't understand why ringing the doorbell is so freaking tough, especially since the mailbox is attached to the house right next to the door and doorbell. He was a younger guy-a lot of stammering mixed with yes ma'am-which makes me wonder if me saying something to him directly would maybe solve this problem. Something along the lines of 'when I don't receive my packages on time, the company sending it starts an investigation into where the discrepancy is occurring and I'd hate to see you get into trouble over this.' Quoting: Kick I don't know, but when I was 12 years old, I could deliver newspapers to the correct homes each day, without any problems. Not entirely the same thing. We have over 750 mail boxes with similar names, numbers, streets. We are expected to deliver correctly and quickly. I get it's a similar job, but I can assure you, it's not as easy as you think. I will say that some carriers are absolutely lazy assholes who really do not give a damn to make your day easy. But not all of us are that way.
