ATHEISTS TOLD "You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven " by Pope Not a Catholic but this is a bit shocking to me. Pope Francis was asked about non-believers making it into Heaven and replied in part with, Quoting: derelekt "You ask me if the God of the Christians forgives those who don’t believe and who don’t seek the faith. I start by saying – and this is the fundamental thing – that God’s mercy has no limits if you go to him with a sincere and contrite heart." Why go to someone you do not believe in? |

ATHEISTS TOLD "You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven " by Pope Matthew 20: 20 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. 2 Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 and said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went. 5 Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle,[a] and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’ 7 They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive.’ 8 “So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’ 9 And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius. 11 And when they had received it, they complained against the landowner, 12 saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’ 13 But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? 14 Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’ 16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.” In our case the denarius is an eternity in heaven with God. I don't see why it should matter if you accept him from birth or when you see him coming in the clouds at the end of the world, if you are a good person, you will be saved. Period. This isn't really a change in Catholic Dogma, just a rather strict adherence to it. It DOES make me a little...nervous/excited though. Generally, people would say that you need to accept the Lord before you die, since you won't get a chance to change your mind after that. With every generation before this it was generally accepted that you won't see the Lord coming on a cloud within your lifetime. If this is no longer true, does that mean the Pope KNOWS we will all see the Lord soon? Are today's non-believers going to become the vineyard workers hired at the eleventh hour? It's an interesting turn of events at the very least. |

ATHEISTS TOLD "You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven " by Pope I think he is admitting that much of the bible is tainted with human fallacy and should not be taken literally. All Popes know this as they have access to the truths in the Vatican library and know how the scriptures have been manipulated. What Pope is doing is being true to Christ's teachings rather than the propaganda man has added to the scriptures through the ages to control the masses. God could not possibly be evil and being the cause of suffering and eternal torment is indeed evil. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 44765078 Actually "he" could be, if he exists/ There's too much evil on thi world, the whole life on earth is based on evil (Animals kill each other to survive) so everything's possible. But that doesn't make the concept of hell less bullshit, because it's indeed "invented" by men |

It's an interesting turn of events at the very least. Coming to faith late in life is much different than having no faith and getting in because you are basically good. The Bible says "All have fallen short...." "No man shall come to the Father but by me..." and many such others that indicate you must believe to by compliant with Christian faith. I also find it odd that he said "the God of the Christians" to refer to God. Notice he didn't choose "my God" or "our God." Does that mean anything? I wonder if the four angels bound at the Euphrates have been loosed. We are the chains that bind us |

It's for the sheeple who don't actually have the potential to reach any enlightment and if there really was heaven and hell, the religitards would probably end in hell for being close-minded fools who refuse to use their own brain |

ATHEISTS TOLD "You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven " by Pope For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law; and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law; for not the hearers of the Law are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified. For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law unto themselves, in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness, and their thoughts ultimately accusing or defending them. In the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel. |

ATHEISTS TOLD "You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven " by Pope My dearly beloved daughter, the schism within the Catholic Church, as foretold, will now be witnessed, for all the world to see. The departure of My dearly beloved Holy Vicar, Pope Benedict XVI, marks the beginning of the end. I have, through you, My chosen prophet, over the last two years, tried to prepare My Church on earth for this sad event. The Masonic elite have grasped control over My Church and they will wield the most wicked deceit upon Catholics. The Keys of Rome are now within My Hands having been passed over to Me by My Father. I will direct all of My followers so that the Truth can be sustained and that My Holy Word remains intact. The false prophet will now take over the Seat in Rome and My Word, just as it was in My Time on earth, will be treated as heresy. Make no mistake, for as the deceit is presented to the world, as if the new reign represents the Truth, you, My daughter, will suffer terribly in My Holy Name just as the prophets, which came before you. My followers must remain calm and pray for the salvation of all of My most sacred servants who will be caught up in this abomination. I call on them to respond as follows. Continue to follow My Teachings. Never waive from the Word of God. Remain loyal to your sacred duties and administer the Holy Sacraments as you have been instructed by Me. The Teachings of the Catholic Church, based on its formation by My Apostle Peter, remain infallible. Now this will change once the foundation is rocked by the changes to come. Shortly, you will no longer recognise My Church and you will feel very uncomfortable when you witness how My Holy Word will be tampered with. Your Jesus |
