It's impossible for the two to be together, since they are completely different. The founders, in the Federalist Papers, wrote that in no way they wanted a Democracy, because it is too easily corrupted.

I firmly believe that the Constitution is null & void, they just never bothered to tell us. They keep the illusion going, changing the words from Republic to Democracy, so we get used to it.

Not only is the Constitution valuable to Obama, it has retained his complete focus since before taking office. Obama was a Constitutional law professor, a scholar. He knew exactly how to dismantle the Constitution and had been working toward that goal long before any of us even knew his name.

Well I'm certain I know about the Republic part. I'm still not sure. I'm still undoing 12 years of public school indoctrination and college didn't really help clear up my American History issue either. It did open my eyes, but I can't get a straight answer.

Let's see. 10th grade Political Science taught us that we had a Democratic Republic. Now, I did question how the two could go together and here is what my instructor explained. We are a Republic who use the, and I quote, "foundation of a democratic form of government to direct the actions of those elected to represent our Republic and ensure that the elected adhere to the constructs our our government laid out in our Constitution."

Now. With that load of shit, how do I figure out what form of government we have? "...And to the Republic for which it stands...". I honestly don't remember anywhere in the Federalist Papers or the thousands of letters and addresses given by the framers of our Constitution, where they said what form of government we had other than using the words Constitution and Republic.

How's that for fucked up. I can't remember what I did yesterday, but I remember what some soccer coach aka poli-sci teacher said to me in 10th grade. What was I then... like 14? Yep. Christ.

I totally understand where you're coming from. Luckily, my High School Government & US History Teacher was AWESOME. He challenged us to do our own research and come up with our own conclusions, which were usually not what was written in the text books?

And let me add, research was very hard back then, 1977-78, no internet. In fact, we still had clay tablets, lol!

I think the change started after the Civil War and has progressed since. It's time to turn it around and get back to basics!
