It kind of reminds me of a c2c show hosted by George Knapp on strange disappearances. The guest was the author of a book called "Missing 411". He had documented hundreds of cases of strange disappearances in National Parks & forested areas all over N. America. Some young children survived and told stories of being abducted by either a large wolf or bear. At the time of the show the author did say that there were similar things going on in other countries/continents & was planning on investigating those also. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 43640675 United States 09/01/2013 10:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I spent the last hour or so reading up on this. My first thought was an avalanche to explain the internal fractures without soft tissue damage on the outside and would also explain them cutting out of the tent and leaving clothes behind. I came back to your post and read through the wiki page you linked to. It also states that the prevailing theory is an avalanche. I noted the sections that spoke about radiation contained on some of the victims. Not being present or capable of analyzing real-time research into this, I will keep an open mind. I do lean towards the avalanche theory in spite of oddities like only half of the tent being caved in. |

Were they attacked by some sort of alien beings..some supernatural force of some kind..?? Interested to see what people make of it all and see what others think could explain the injuries and state of the groups bodies. Recent State of Affairs Surrounding the Unexplained Mystery In 2008, Ural State Technical University organized a conference that consisted of six members of the original search party, 31 independent experts, The Dyatlov Foundation, and several non government organizations. The participants concluded that the military was indeed performing tests in the area during the time of the ill-fated expedition, and these experiments was directly responsible for the deaths of the nine hikers. The participants state that they lack documentation, and they have asked the Defense Ministry, the Russian Space Agency, and the Federal Security Service to assist them in finally ending the speculation surrounding the unexplained mystery of the Dyatlov Pass Incident. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 33676911 United States 09/02/2013 11:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ya, they want there views..heres a link.. [link to en.wikipedia.org] Theories.... Many theories have arisen about the event, from paranormal activity to secret weapons tests (see below), but an avalanche damage is considered one of the more plausible explanations for this incident.[ One scenario under this theory is that moving snow knocked down the tent, ruining the campsite in the night. The party then cut themselves free and mobilized. The snow would likely have contacted them and possibly ruined their boots and extra clothing. Being covered in wet snow in the sub-freezing temperatures created a serious hazard to survival, with possible exhaustion or unconsciousness from hypothermia possible in under 15 minutes. Thibeaux-Brignolles, Dubinina, Zolotariov, and Kolevatov were moving farther from the site to find help despite their remote location when they fell in the ravine they were found in – three of these bodies had major fractures. Being the only bodies with major injuries and lying 13 feet deep in a ravine could be considered evidence that they fell. Supporting factors for this |

My dear friend and best climbing partner for years was a Russian man. He grew up in USSR and was part of the mountaineering club at university. I asked him once about this incident. He said, very assuredly, "oh, it was a military test that went bad, it's no secret in the, mountaineering community what happened". He knew people who knew the victims, and had no doubt it was some sort of radiation poisoning. |

Way back we had all these awesome stories, now we have nothing. Leads me to believe it's because our Government got smarter and started testing things where we can't see/stop testing all together since they found out what they needed to know back when this shit used to go on. |

David Paulides is the author to the Missing 411 books. He was on C2Cin March 2012, June 2012 and This spring, I think April. George Knapp interviewed, and yea, its fucking spooky as fuck! The cases are available to read, but, there's a few cases that Government agencies wouldn't release through FOIA. The stories are verified, plus, the author provides names and contact info of the sources of info. What's really strange is some stories have conflicting information. One article says mystery solved, but another article says its unexplained. Due to the conflict, I researched the Bart Schlyer case personally by calling the people who were part of the official investigation and confirmed that the author and info was legit! I posted a link below to one of the creepiest cases and its the one I researched/verified [link to www.wolfsongalaska.org] |

Thus, I believe it was some sort of nuclear test that triggered the avalanche. The physical injuries do seem to lean toward an avalanche, but they died from injuries and circumstances that would lean toward a very high level of radiation. No documents were released on the state of their internal organs. To me, that would be the key document, as the witness already noted their very tan skin (which is odd seeing as they all buried under snow). Additionally, many of them took off their clothes. If you were being cooked alive from the inside, that might be the first response to try and cool off. However, with that level of radiation, no amount of snow would stop the cooking of internal organs (even if the skin might be alright). |
