As a professional driver[taxi,17 yrs and in excess of a million miles], I can say with some authority that only pro drivers should be allowed to talk on cellphones.
Oh and by the way, if you would ever actually reach into my car and attempt to take anything from my hands you would very likely stagger back from the car with a broken/grotesquely hyperextended elbow and a broken nose.

A couple of weeks ago I was nearly hit twice by COPS talking on the phone and driving. I wish I had not put my brief case in the trunk so I could have written down their car numbers and given it to their Chiefs and written a letter to the local news paper outing them.
It's bad enough when you have to dodge soccer moms and snot nosed teens talking and driving but friggin cops?

Give them one solid honk, smile and wave.

Drive your car in front of them and slam on the breaks. They get done for dangerous driving. YEH BABY.

There is nothin wrong with talking on the phone while driving so long as you do so responsibly. I do agree there are quite a many folks out there that cannot do this. As long as you pay attention to your driving, and are a good driver in the first place its really quite a safe and simple task. Some people cannot chew gum and walk at the same time, or just pay no attention to their driving and become enveloped in the phone calls, allowing them to become more important than the task at hand, and some just cannot drive in the first place, and then on top of this talk on the phone. It is these people that ruin it for responsible drivers that are quite capable of driving and making a phone call. And yeah just go ahead and attempt to take my phone, this will result in you getting a good ole fashioned ass whoopin, which i will unleash upon you......yup you guessed it.... while still talking on my cell phone.

Its illegal in UK but people still do it.
