Otherwise it will keep coming back. A nasal saline solution will help a lot too. I used to get constant sinus infections that lasted months and I could feel it in my teeth. Haven't had one in over 5 years. Home Remedies: Treating and Preventing Sinusitis (middle of page) [link to www.webmd.com] Good luck. |

You wouldn't happen to live on the West Coast or over a fault line would ya? I had one for three days before the NE had it's first 4.0 in years. Try putting on dark glasses and breathing into your hand and see if that helps. Last Edited by Anonymous_Cow on 08/26/2013 09:24 PM |

I don't live on the west coast, but I fly in and out of there typically once each week and layover for about 12 hrs (in LA). I have yet to experience an earthquake actually. The headache finally went away last week after 2 days of benedryl and saline rinses. "Fortune, honour, beauty, youth are but blossoms dying. The saline and Ibuprofen do help a little. On and off for the past few months, thought it was a bad tooth too for a while, but definitely not... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 357364 I thought it was a tooth also. My dentist told me the easiest way to tell if its tooth or sinus is to tap on the tooth you think is the problem. That's how they verify the bad tooth. He also said that if you can't pinpoint the exact tooth, its probably sinus also. I get occular migraines from time to time and this pain was very similar. After a while I became nauseated, I couldn't sleep and it spread down to my lower jaw and up to my eyes and temples. My doc suspect its an early bout of my autumn allergies-mold, dust, and mildew. It's been much cooler and damper this summer than most where I live. It makes sense. "Fortune, honour, beauty, youth are but blossoms dying. The nerves in your teeth are connected to the sinus cavities. See an endodontist! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5944330 I was going through this recently as I have had sinus problems forever. I have a sinu-sense rinser which usually helps but didn't this time. Real sudafed works, but it turned out to be an abscess which didn't give me a regular tooth ache for some reason. Got the root canal last Tuesday which didn't hurt aside from the pain in the wallet. Go see a dentist which ought to be cheaper than the doctor visit. GD |

The nerves in your teeth are connected to the sinus cavities. See an endodontist! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5944330 My bro in law is a periodontist and I talked to him a little while ago. He leans toward sinus because when I put ice on each tooth it doesn't react, but when I put it just above the gum line it hurts like hell. Just to muddy the waters a little - I've had both - a sinus infection that made all my teeth ache, and an abscessed tooth that made my sinuses ache. If you have a sinus infection the nerves in the teeth are very sensitive. A sinus infection should have a course of antibiotics to clear it out for good. From my experience at least. |

I'm pretty sure its from mold, dust, mildew and all the CAT hair I've been breathing in! Incredibly painful though! I might have to go to the doc eventually. Thanks for the thread, I got a few good pointers. |

GD I saw my dentist last week after the pain was gone. No cavities, abcesses or problems. He confirmed it was a sinus infection by the xray. I'd almost prefer it to be a tooth problem bc once it is fixed the pain is gone. These sinus infections keep coming back in different locations. Canuck NLI User ID: 15077718 Canada 08/26/2013 10:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sinus headache in my teeth! Anyone else experienced this? Any remedies? It was so bad last night that I couldn't sleep and actually considered going to urgent care when they opened at 10am. Then I read an article about maxillary sinus headaches. I can tell you the pain is worse than any tooth pain I've ever had and it was the whole left side of my mouth! I get migraines from time to time and my doc gave me a very small script of imitrex so I took some and finally fell asleep. It's back and I don't want to use the last of my medicine in case I get a migraine. Quoting: KungPowMeowMeow I've tried a hot steamy bath, ice pack, nasal spray, benedryl and it just isn't doing much. Any suggestions? Been there a few years back... wanted to have all my teeth removed it hurt so much. Take iodine in supplement form it should get rid of the sinus infection in a day or two, then keep taking iodine... we're all very deficient. Don't take my word for it. You should inform yourself. There's lots of information on the internet about iodine supplementation. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 39555219 Japan 08/26/2013 10:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP, the fact that it is only on the left side makes me think that you could be suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia [link to en.wikipedia.org] I had a full blown case of this one. About 15 mins after eating I would get this intense pain on the left side of my face. While the pain was spread over the entire face, the majority of the pain was on my back 2 molars (not including the wisdom tooth, it was already extracted). It would take about 30 mins to an hour for the pain to go away. In order to heal this, I saw a specialist for 4 months. He taped my face in order to pull the pressure off the nerves. Looks like the source of my problem was poor dental hygiene. I had sores and swollen gums in the back of my mouth around the area that had the most pain. I also had a bad case of Oral Candidiasis. I believe that cleaning my mouth was the real cure for this problem. I started to scrape my tongue clean everyday, floss, and brush only with water (apparently using mouthwash makes the bacteria and fungus more stronger). It took about 2 years of that to almost knock out most of the fungus from my mouth. The doctor told me that even though the pain goes away, it will never fully heal. Just the time in between getting the pain will get longer and longer and the pain itself will last less time. So from time to time, I still get the problem that you originally described. Especially when the weather changes from hot to cold. It seems to be related to my sinuses. I get a mild version of the pain around the gums of those 2 teeth when my sinus get swollen. |

I attribute them to atmospheric changes plus a bit of a cold or flu, as I do not really get sinus problems. I agree. its crazy pain. I took aspirin 325mg and an antibiotic. was gone by end of the day as the front pushed through. |

The pain eased in a matter of minutes. Should really start up with the neti pot again, but keep forgetting to pick up distilled water. |

If you cannot just put the pain away as nothing serious, and the mind can do that, then you have to deal with it. Just realizing it is not serious lessens the pain and then you find something else that hurts. |

Go see a doctor to confirm what you have. As someone said, teeth or jaw pain can be a sign of heart issues.
