Anonymous Coward User ID: 15762023 United States 08/18/2013 12:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Totally normal. I've had them for years about once a month. My teeth are perfectly fine. Truth be told the roots on my teeth are very long and do go up very near my sinus cavities. Any increased pressure caused undue pressure on those teeth roots. It has never caused any harm to my teeth or roots. Take a combination of Tylenol and pseudephedrine HCL or some kind of good nasal decongestant. If it is not too bad this will take the edge off. |

Had x-rays done of my teeth, came up clear. Had CT sinus scan done, clear. Had brain scan done, clear. HAd MRI, clear. Had EEG done. clear. Had 24 hour EEG done... focal brain seizures. Get the full check up. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39681180 Oh my gosh! I hope you are ok! I'm so sorry that happened to you. That's really scary. I already get ct scans and MRIs done every year at a checkup with my oncologist. I had metasticized malignant melanoma in my lymph node on the left side of my neck so they removed most of them. I never had allergies before that and now the left side of my nose is always either stuffy or runny. But they are still checking my brain for additional growths and so far nada. . It's a chronic inflammation which you can't kill with antibiotics so I use low dose antibiotics just to give a bit of help to immune system to keep them in check. The high dose antibiotics merely kill off those which are sensitive to that antibiotic, leaving the resilient ones to take over, making the job a lot harder the next time (hence requiring newer more expensive antibiotics, with more side effects, too; of course docs and pharma will advise you to do exactly that, always finish the bottle). But if you just swat them a bit upside the head as it were, they get the message and go quiescent again. Essentially, you're trying to domesticate them and establish a peaceful coexistence with them. After all, for each one of "your" cells there anywhere from 10-50 symbiotic bacteria which make up the rest of "you" i.e. in terms of DNA, we're almost entirely bacterial colonies with a bit of symbiotic human DNA mixed in. After a while the wild ones "learn" (via horizontal DNA transfers) from the domesticated ones how to behave as the good citizens of that particular colony, "you". |

The nerves in your teeth are connected to the sinus cavities. See an endodontist! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5944330 My bro in law is a periodontist and I talked to him a little while ago. He leans toward sinus because when I put ice on each tooth it doesn't react, but when I put it just above the gum line it hurts like hell. "Fortune, honour, beauty, youth are but blossoms dying. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 44479772 Gurgle with salt water also. As a teenager I'd clench my teeth while sleeping, but it went away on its own. Its a different kind of pain than that was. tMJ felt like it was coming from the hinge of your jaw and the teeth would feel loose and aggravated. This pain is awful because I can't pinpoint where its coming from and its so intense is makes me nauseated like with my migraines. "Fortune, honour, beauty, youth are but blossoms dying. After a while the wild ones "learn" (via horizontal DNA transfers) from the domesticated ones how to behave as the good citizens of that particular colony, "you". That's fascinating! I do my best to avoid antibiotic for minor situations that will resolve themselves. The bad thing about sinus trouble is my job. When I get a sinus headache it is aggravated by the 5 or 6 flights I do that day. And it can be dangerous too. I've heard the stories of burst eardrums. I already take apple cider vinegar for small infections like UTI's but I wonder if it could help in this case? "Fortune, honour, beauty, youth are but blossoms dying. HOT TOWELS User ID: 45769851 United States 08/26/2013 07:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh, I get these once in a while, and they're killer painful. Stick a damp towel in the microwave for 3 minutes and then lie down and press it over your face, folded in half. But when you take it out of the microwave, stick another towel in there on 3 minutes so it will be hot and ready by the time the first towel cools off. Reduces sinus pain quickly, full relief from pain after about 5 towels (15 minutes). BE CAREFUL WITH THE HOT TOWELS. Don't burn your face! |

I do a netti pot with distilled water, sea salt and 2 tbs of Hydrogen Peroxide... I go something so large out of my nostril once I thought a damned slug had crawled in my nose. So a infected tooth can feel like a sinus infection and a sinus infection can make your teeth hurt. |

It turned out to be a BONE SPUR in my sinus cavity, probably caused by "bumping" my nose in the past. Went to an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist, and he removed it surgically. Have had ZERO sinus headaches/"tooth"-sinus-related pain since then>>>33* years ago!!! |

Best even if it drains (you'll know it will come out like a gusher from your nose) to get an antibiotic. Good luck -- I've had one and the pain in pretty intense. At least you know it is your sinus's instead of a tooth infection that would most likely need a root canal. Take psudafed and see if that uncorks it. Nous sommes du soleil. -- We are of the sun. |
