Anonymous Coward User ID: 35148185 United States 08/09/2013 02:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Comcast users: abnormal amount of EAS "test" messages. In the past 3 nights while I have been watching T.V I have witnessed 4 EAS masseags. 1 monthly test and 3 weekly tests.
Late Tuesday night early Wednesday morning there was a monthly test EAS message.
Late Wednesday night early Thursday morning there were 2 weekly test ESA messages
And at around 0100 this morning there was another weekly test ESA.
Are they testing it too make sure it's functional, so when they have to use it it works? Seems odd to me... |

I'm not on Comcast since moving from Cali to NV, now with Cox. But, I do see the emergency tests once a week. That is normal. Recently I have seen additional messages such as the Amber Alerts. As far as excess tests...
Honestly, I wouldn't be worried about them. Chalk it up to your service provider being inept and needing to test it more often than normal... :) |
