well a trigger is just that. it triggers a reaction the person has learned before and associates with that trigger.

so words might have been said while doing the programming (having them perform tasks by giving them electroshock if they dont comply) to act as a trigger later. so that later the electroshock wont be needed.

its like if you have a mother that bakes pancakes every saturday and youd remember the smell and going downstairs to her whenever you smelled it. years later if you were to smell that same smell in the middle of the street it would still trigger the emotion (now thoughts rather then actions) or wanting to go downstairs to your mother. or atleast make you think of her because she used to be associated to that smell.

theres alot of things you can do with that. especially if rather than a plesant smell it would be eletroshok.. (im pretty sure that sticks better and faster) and it would install a fear thought pattern rather then a happy fealing. wich usually have bigger impact....
