The manager of the store would have had to drive home, unlock his gun case, unlock his hand gun case, remove the trigger lock, go to the separate gun case where his ammo is held, unlock that, load the gun, drive back to the store and deal with the monkey. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36142433 that's so f*cked up just think.............. if you shot somebody in your own home also, like if its being invaded. chances are the home owner might be liable or guilty somehow. its happened more than once. Yes this is true, a guy heard a rumble in his basement, went downstairs to find an intruder coming through a window, I guess a struggle ensued and the home owner stabbed the guy a few times. The guy did not die. The home owner was sentenced to 4 years in federal prison. In canada you're not allowed to use "excessive" force even when defending your life in your own home. If someone comes at you with a knife in your home, you blow their head off, well that's excessive force... you shoulda grabbed a knife and dueled him. Not to mention, you'll probably be charged with unsafe storage of a fire arm, illegal discharge, etc etc etc. If a man breaks into your house, brutally beats and rapes your wife, you come into the room and he starts running, and you shoot him in the back and drop him dead... you're going to prison for 25 years. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36142433 that's so f*cked up This exact same situation would play out if your house was being invaded as well. You see some monkeys kicking down your door 1. Unlock gun case 2. Unlock handgun case 3. Remove trigger lock 4. Unlock ammo case 5. Load gun Even if someone practices this routine, we're talking about a minute or possibly more here, in a situation that could see you being a body on the floor in SECONDS. Especially when you're panicked and adrenaline is pumping, hands are shaking, etc. These type of incidents just prove that all law-abiding, responsible citizens should be openly carrying. Imagine if it wasn't just gun stores where robbers ran in with a bat and lost. Imagine if they tried to run into a convenience store, and not only was the clerk packing, but 2-3 store patrons, now you've got 4 on one. Would people die? Absolutely, thieves, junkies, rapists, and otherwise coldblooded murders would be dropping like flies. |

I do open carry :) no problems there. anyone breaks into my home all I would do is reach for my holster. gun is cocked and loaded. I say, "tried" because on his way in he had to walk around the Police Cruiser, an obvious, though unmarked, second Police car &, once inside, not only did he face the armed Officers, the majority of the customers were armed, as was EVERY employee. They did not give the details on how many times he was hit but my best Friend was Friends with several employees & they told him that he was hit MULTIPLE times. That night I toasted to the moran for at least having the foresight to remove himself from the gene pool. I'm a proud Texan & American, posting from Central Texas & have no clue why my flag shows friggin Canada(no offense to my Canadian friends). While you do need a transport license, once you have this you're free to travel with the restricted handgun. But it still has to be in a locked case, with a trigger lock and ammo separate. |
