These moose knuckles already have their infrastructure in place. DHS and the government won't relinquish their hold, there's too much money and "national security" at stake. Look at all the nasty terrorists they've felt up in airports. Behind closed doors congress is already laughing at him while counting their payoffs. There's a whole industry supporting this. Nice try but it's a fools errand. |

Although your words hold truth to circumstances at foot, I'm stricken to also exclaim that this is a piss poor attitude to have for our own citizenry's sake. I say this with respect and mean no insult. An intelligent and informed individual like yourself needs to be vocal and supportive of those who speak out like yourself I feel that the most important thing is that the freshman congressman feels that he has enough support and passion to attempt the three things the article says he will: 1) Ending FISA - [link to www.politico.com] 2) Ending the Patriot Act [link to www.washingtonpost.com] 3) Protection for whistleblowers [link to www.app.com] Of course, this attempt may bear no fruit. I'm just happy that there is another person in our legislature willing to take hold of the perils that face our nation currently head on. I know this is a hard pit to spit out since we've been forced to chew on a lame duck congress for the last however many decades. Each session seems to be more in lined with the banking and corporate conglomerates. However I'd like to think we're beginning to see a new breed of politician. That or I need to change my glasses prescription. You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness. Like resignation to the end, always the end. Just a little happiness and health is all I wanted. |

Or if they DO know about it they think because it has the word 'patriot' in it that it somehow is an instrument that secures freedoms. |
