The loss of a best friend
Whether it be human or critter, it's heartbreaking. My ferret, Madge, is 6 and a half years old and dying. I am taking her tomorrow to be put down, though I wish I could do it tonight as I can't stand to see a loved one suffer. I got Madge as a companion during a hard time in my life and I will miss her terribly. :'(

Stay strong. Sending my love out for you.
Rest well in knowing that Ms. Madge will be safe, happy & healthy when she returns to her eternal home, and she will always be with you. rose

Ferrets are one of the coolest :) Lose something shiny? Check the ferret stash. My parents got one when I was very young, before many even knew what they were.

...and my sister got one for me as a b-day pressie later on in life. I trusted her care to the wrong person and she, too, had to be put down and I never got to say goodbye :/

Try to get some sleep, OP hugs

I doubt you'll get much empathy from many of these member's here. But, I will offer this up, "the universe wastes nothing"

The worst is to mourn the loss of a person(or critter)you'll never see, talk to or hang out with, as it's selfish, in my opinion to be upset that you've lost something, instead of celebrating how lucky you were to get know a person(or critter) who made an impact in your life that you're going to miss. Missing people is a great thing, it means you were lucky enough to have them in your life. I don't know what I'll do when I lose one of my dogs.

I have had a ferret before, but to be honest, it was a shit factory! I can't believe how much they shit! Or that they shit in corner's to the amount of it piling up to incredible amounts!!! Yes, I did clean out it's habitat constantly but I didn't know my ferret had also enjoyed crawling under my couch and shitting. in a corner, that I only found when I moved couch cause I dropped my cell phone.... into a massive pile of ferret crap... I also could smell it, but, I thought it was his cage/habitat.

That's right, I called them shit factories, but yea he was cool. Wiley, like the coyote

Ok, now back to my regular comments, ever seen the new ammo available called jihawg.com ?

I'm not racist, I hate everyone equally.

I'd rather be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Madgie wasn't one for the shiny. She was a rubber fiend, anything chewy she staked her claim on. Sandals, toilet brush (handle), daughter's toys once a kid came along, buttons on the tv remote. Awww :(

This will be the 3rd ferret Ive had to put down. She was my #1, then along came Lola whom I bought from a boy. Later I got Chuck as a housewarming gift. 2 weeks ago for my birthday my man took me to pick out a new friend for Madge, and that's when it started. I hate to say it, but I dont even want Delilah anymore. :(

I am sorry you've lost your furry friend also! I had to take an ambien for the first time since my second child was born (7 weeks ago) so i can try to sleep, otherwise ill be up all night
