Talk about double standards. I know who are biggest crooks here, pretty obvious. I like the american people, but boy from where I sit I also think that their govermnent is possibly one of the worst in the world and rapidly trying for top spot is how things appear to me. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 41571489 United States 06/12/2013 06:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | please correct me if I am wrong Ixquick is owned by Surfboard Holding BV. Surfboard Holding was business partners with Google Netherlands from 1999 to 2001. [link to www.jeroen.com] And isn't the Ixquick infrastructure and proxy servers still owned by Google ??? Even if your searches were encrypted, Google would have the de-crypt codes and thusly, your data is compromised via proxy. So if Google is compromised as your article suggests, then Ixquick is also compromised via it's proxy service. |

Do you best to not use the products of the companies that turn their records and vulnerabilities over to the feds. If you are going to be surfing controversial material, or discussing sensitive information, use TOR and/or a VPN. Preferably in an area where there are lots of other internet users, a good portion of which hopefully are also using anonymizers. If you download something with TOR, don't open/install the file while you're still connected to the internet. Learn to use encryption tools. |
Fedgoober User ID: 44903177 United States 08/10/2013 08:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thought for today. We can employ techniques to make snooping an unsustainable concept. We need to add words to our email that the software searches for, but ensure it is clear in the context we are not actually using those words for any reason. For example, at the end of an email, copy and paste a template full of words such as bomb, government, explosive, etc... and add words that these are NOT what the person is involved in. Imagine, then, the flooding effect when snooping programs become overwhelmed to the point they shut down. Even if people only send out an occassional unimportant email to add to the flood, this can cause more headaches than they counted on. Think about an additional 1-2 million emails an hour flooding in. Does anyone connect that to Denial of Service? Just a thought. |
