If I were all alone I would leave this hell-world in a heartbeat. But I can't leave my sweet wife and ageing mother alone in this shit-pit. I have to fight for them. I would have to say the beauty of nature, music, and the many experiences I have had with psychedelics. Since I view these things as meaningful, that's enough reason for me to believe that there is a fundamental beauty underlying in them. Also, recognize that separation from nature is just an illusion, and extremely new concept in human cognition. Before Descartes/scientific revolution, people understood humanity had an integral role in nature and the ecosystem. Shake this ego, realize you are Earth, and the Earth is you. Breath in the air, feel the warmth, this is all an ongoing process that you are so lucky to be a integral part of. My philosophy of life is: if your not having fun, your doing it wrong. |

Nature is the only true beauty I see, but even living in a rainforest surrounded by mountains, I fell deeper and deeper into depression. I can't seem to find peace at all. I am still young(early 20's) but cant help but be succumbed to the negativity of the world and my thoughts. I will continue to find helpful moments or situations, but an end to this misery doesn't seem likely. All this loaf, Rainbow Stalin. |

Faith is a gift of God, and you can ask for it, but if you are not willing to humble yourselves and do that before your Creator, then you do know don't you, that you are essentially beasts of the field, like a dog or a horse. Are you happy with that? "It's a friendly friendly world" (Andy Kaufman) Calm seas do not a sailor make, Nor easy horses, a horseman. And Jesus was a sailor when he walked upon the water And he spent a long time watching from his lonely wooden tower and when He could be certain only drowning men could see Him- Leonard Cohen |

Trying my entire life to please one man is a epic failure of mine and millions of peoples' lives. You are not humble, you are a dog seeking its master's attention. Existentialism explores the reasons to have hope even in the face of existential angst. It is about letting go of the idea that you can make sense of the world. Try actually studying the philosophy and then ask the question again. |
