DHS To Be Granted TOTAL POWER In Immigration Bill! Biometric Database To Be Created.
"There has been a lot of rhetoric on both sides of the issue regarding the current “immigration reform bill” that the Senate has taken up, but one thing you likely haven’t heard about at all is the scope and breadth of power the massive 850-page-plus measure contains. Simply put, if it becomes law, it will give the Department of Homeland Security near-dictatorial powers.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, an Alabama Republican, has entered a letter into the congressional record from law enforcement personnel around the country who are warning S.744, officially titled the “Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act,” would grant sweeping, discretionary powers to “political appointees” – bureaucrats – while stripping law enforcement of authority.

This same section (Section 2101 of S. 744) gives the Secretary of Homeland Security virtually unlimited discretion to waive any manner of crimes that would otherwise make an individual ineligible for legal status – for such expansive reasons as family unity, humanitarian purposes, or what the Secretary believes is in the public interest.

The immigration reform measure the Senate began debating yesterday would create a national biometric database of virtually every adult in the U.S., in what privacy groups fear could be the first step to a ubiquitous national identification system.

The provision called for “a massive federal database administered by the Department of Homeland Security and containing names, ages, Social Security numbers and photographs of everyone in the country with a driver’s license or other state-issued photo ID,” Wired reported.

IMMIGRATION BILL

First of all this bill is Obamas "top priority." This HUGE red flag to me considering what he is doing and has done to everything this country stands for. My issue with the S. 744 bill titled, "Border Security, Economic opportunity, and immigration modernization act," was the magnitude of it. Really, who can fully comprehend an 850 plus page bill that is this complex? Certainly not the average citizen it will effect! Same with Obamacare, people are still struggling to uncover the corrupt riddles it is composed of. My biggest problems with the immigration bill has nothing to do with immigration, though I will get into that. ....The first problem I realized after further research is what Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions talks about, (granted I don't agree with a lot of what this guy says, like the biometric database this bill also encompasses that I will get into soon) the complete and unchecked power it will give to the Department of Homeland security. The Department of Homeland security, or any other organization or agency for that matter, does not need this dictatorial power this bill will allow. Once you add in the trillions of dollars worth of guns, ammo, and tanks purchased by the DHS, and the "non traditional" threat photos of pregnant women, children, and elderly all holding guns they are training our soldiers and police to shoot, giving them anymore power is just ridiculous! Localized authority and power is already becoming an endangered species, and this bill is just a HUGE step towards a centralized power, thus, a totalitarian government! Frank Sharry, executive director of America's Voice and a leader on immigration reform efforts said, "We hope there is a fourth scandal," -referring to AP, IRS, AND BENGHAZI, this was BEFORE  Prism, guess he got his wish- "While this goes on we are plungging along under the radar." Like Hilary Clinton, at least I believe that who it was, once said, "Never waste a good crisis," right? Another HUGE HUGE HUGE problem with the immigration bill, is the fact it is calling for a $25 billion dollar biometric ID Database for every adult in America! This is no different, in my opinion, to the ultimate goal of Prism, to create an incredible database containing a file for each individual that will contain your DNA, finger prints, picture for the facial recognition system they have ALREADY been using to solve crimes, YES your conversations, purchases, friends, family, places you frequent, and much much more. This is a TOTAL 4th admendment violation, in fact it just pretty much shits on the entire constitution! BASICALLY...the immigration bill is about anything and everything, other than immigration! It is about DHS authority, this database, control, cheap labor, and giving away more of our jobs while most of the country's unemployed or underemployed! BUT, since it is supposed to be about immigration, heres my views, immigration is one of the things that made our country so great, no denying that. However there are two simple reasons why in the past immigration has strengthen are country, and now it is detrimental: welfare, and job lose. When our ancestors immigrated to this country, up until 50 years ago, it was sink or swim. The "weaker" ones couldnt make it and there for went back to their respected countries, not to mention the thousands turned away directly off the boats. Thereby, this created the merit based system that this bill advertises, yet will not produce, on its own. Milton Friedman said, "You can not have an open border, and a welfare state." They are mostly low-skilled family based immigrants, therefore they will either take middle class and low income workers positions, or resort to welfare on our tax dollars. Quoting Alabama Senator Jeff Session for a moment....."[the immigration bill] will surge low-skilled family based immigration, rather than merit based immigration"....."Over the next decade this bill would legalize well over 30 million immigrants, only 2.5 million of those will be through the merit system."......."Can one of these sponsors of this bill explain to me the economic justification for adding four times more guest workers then proposed in 2007 at a time when 4.6 more Americans are out of work today than in 2007? Can one of the sponsors answer this basic question: how will this legislation protect poor and struggling Americans? Will it raise wages or lower them? To whom do we owe our loyalty- some business who would like to have more labor or the American people" As far as the family / chain migration which is a big part of this bill, if we let one good hardworking immigrant, take one American citizen who has family from other countries; now his brothers sons baby's mommas cousins all want to be united. Of course I am exaggerating here but I mean really. One thing I tell a lot of my friends is, just because I like with you, don't mean I wanna deal with your people, your my people your people ain't my people, you feel me? And regardless how you feel about the Boston Bombing, if you believe the official story, that means we allowed terrorist immigrants into this country. The youngest brother got citizenship while being on the FBI watch list. The more immigrants we allow in, wouldn't by there own admission and in my opinion, script, won't we be effectively risking bringing a higher ratio of possible terrorist like the Boston marathon brothers?

Occupied - that was a good comment, but can you go back and put in some paragraph breaks? It was crazy on my eyes reading that lol. :)

And thanks for the post, OP! 5*'s...

I think this is the hottest issue right now. Besides the scandals, an 850+ page bill that will be passing when we're all enjoying a 4th of July weekend.

Having the nameless bureaucrats write the laws takes the onus off congress and frees up their time for more junkets and raising money for their reelections.

Also it will be more difficult to find out what rules they come up with, and more expensive and time consuming to fight them.
