Quoting: R&y The protests in Skouries are taking place daily for about 2 months now, it's getting more extreme by the day. Pollution is the main problem in this case, Halkidiki is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Greece, but also that this deal between Greek state and the Canadian company is shady to say the least since they got gold worth billions for the ridiculous price of 11 million, the Greek state was so enthusiastic with this "investment" that even gave as a gift to the mining company an ancient forest containing at least 700,000 tons of copper in the symbolic price of 1 euro. The sellout has begun here in Greece and it's a pretty ugly sight. Last Edited by insertfunnyusername on 05/14/2013 11:43 AM |
